5. Sadio Mané – Liverpool (bou)
With around 4% of the vote, Sadio Mané finds himself in 5th place in the FFPundits Captaincy Poll as Liverpool travel to face a Bournemouth side that have won just 1 of their last 5 games, while losing 3.
They’ve conceded 7 goals during the last 4 Gameweeks – only Watford (8), Burnley (8), Swansea (11) and Crystal Palace (14) have conceded more. In the last 4 Gameweeks, the Liverpool forward has returned 2 goals.
His 6 shots on target in that period is more than Alexis Sanchez (4) and Diego Costa (3) have managed so far this season and looks like a solid, like-for-like replacement for the injured Philippe Coutinho.
4. Charlie Austin – Southampton (cry)
Charlie Austin has received around 6% of the vote, placing him in 4th place in the poll. Southampton face a Crystal Palace side that have struggled for points of late, having now suffered 6 consecutive defeats.
They’ve conceded 18 goals during that period, which is far more than any other team in the league. The Saints striker has returned 2 goals in his last 4 games and his 7 shots on target in that period is beaten only by Roberto Firmino (8) and Sergio Aguero (10).
3. Sergio Agüero – Man City (CHE)
In 3rd place, with around 11% of the vote, it’s Sergio Aguero, as Man City host an in form Chelsea side. Antonio Conte’s men are on a run of 7 consecutive wins in the Premier League. During that period, they’re ranked 1st for goals conceded, and haven’t conceded a goal from inside the area since Gameweek 6.
But can the in-form Man City striker end Chelsea’s incredible run? In the last 4 Gameweeks, Sergio Aguero is ranked 1st for total shots (24), shots from inside the area (18) and shots on target (10). He’s also returned the most goals in that period, with a tally of 5 goals and 1 assist.
2. Alexis Sánchez – Arsenal (whu)
With around 22% of the vote, it’s Alexis Sánchez. Arsenal face a West Ham side that sit 16th in the league table, having won just 1 of their last 5 games. They’ve conceded 7 goals during the last 4 Gameweeks, only Burnley (8), Watford (8), Swansea (11) and Crystal Palace (14) have conceded more.
In the last 4 Gameweeks, the Arsenal forward has taken 11 shots, with 4 hitting the target and has attempted 11 assists. Sánchez has returned 4 goals in this period and only Sergio Agüero has managed more (5).
1. Harry Kane – Spurs (SWA)
Leading the captaincy poll, with 41% of the vote, is Harry Kane. Spurs host a Swansea side that sit in 19th place in the league table. Their only 3 points during the last 5 games have come from their 5-4 win over Crystal Palace last Gameweek.
During the same period, Swansea have conceded a total of 11 goals; only Crystal Palace have conceded more (17). Since returning from injury, Kane has returned 3 goals in 3 games, against Arsenal, West Ham and Chelsea.
His 4 shots on target during that period is level with Eden Hazard and more than Diego Costa (3) and Alexis Sánchez (2) have managed.
