Premium fantasy picks from Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal feature in our Safe vs Differential tips for Gameweek 14
The Gameweeks are coming thick and fast now guys, but @FFPundits_Drew is on hand to offer you a helping hand ahead of the midweek Premier League fixtures.
As always, this weeks picks are suitable for all fantasy football game formats and will suit most scoring systems, so we hope you find good use for them, whether you’re playing Fantasy Premier League, or daily fantasy games over at Starting 11.
If you’d like to get involved and play against the Fantasy Football Pundits staff this week, create your lineups for Gameweek 11 today via the FREE Apple or Android apps, or, by clicking the banner above.
Safe Pick – Firmino vs. Stoke (A)
1 goal in 10 Premier League games and I’ve chosen Bobby as a safe pick for Gameweek 14?
The Brazilian has found his shooting boots again over the last couple of games, bagging an impressive brace away to Sevilla in the Champions League last week.
The goals are coming in my opinion and after being rested against Chelsea in Gameweek 12, I expect them him to unleash against Stoke on Wednesday evening.
Having conceded 26 goals already this season, with 6 of those coming in their last 3 outings against Leicester, Brighton and Palace – things could get messy for Mark Hughes and Co. at the Bet365 in Gameweek 14.
Differential – Calvert-Lewin vs. West Ham (H)
With Oumar Niasse retrospectively banned for simulation vs Crystal Palace in Gameweek 12 and Wayne Rooney out of favour, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is likely to lead the line once again for Everton in Gameweek 14.
This week’s opponents, West Ham United, have conceded 12 goals in their last 5 games and 26 goals for the season.
With Everton still leaking plenty of goals themselves, the best form of defence is attack – especially in a fixture which could be classed as a relegation 6-pointer, with Everton only 2 points above the relegation zone.
Safe Pick – Sané vs Southampton (H)
If he’s a safe pick for Pep Guardiola, he’s a safe pick for me!
Having avoided Manchester City players as much as possible due to their rotation, Sane provides access to City’s free-flowing attack, without wondering whether it’s Gabriel Jesus or Sergio Aguero sitting on the bench this week.
I don’t expect much from this week’s opposition, Southampton – they recorded an impressive 4-1 win this weekend against a struggling Everton side low on confidence, however, doesn’t everyone beat Everton these days?
A midfielder playing on the left of a front 3 in an attack which has scored 42 goals in 13 games, what’s not to like? He’ll be the first player in my Starting 11 fantasy lineup this week.
Differential – Loftus-Cheek vs. Brighton (A)
I was raving on about Loftus-Cheek during pre-season and when his loan to Crystal Palace was announced, he was the first name on my fantasy team sheet.
It didn’t quite work out early on, despite standing out as a key performer – an awful start for Palace meant no fantasy returns for the Chelsea loanee, but now the tables are turning.
Well finally those performances are starting to turn into points, delivering 1 goal and 2 assists from his last 4 games.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Loftus-Cheek in the points again this week vs Brighton in Gameweek 14 on Starting 11, but can you find a place for him in your lineup?
Safe Pick – Mustafi vs Huddersfield (H)
Every team has its key player, but while it’s Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil who grab the weekly headlines for Arsenal, its Shjodran Mustafi the Gunners have missed since Gameweek 7.
In the 7 games the German has played this season, Arsenal have kept an impressive 6 clean-sheets – compared to the 6 he has missed where they haven’t managed to keep a single clean-sheet.
This week’s opponents, Huddersfield, have scored only 9 goals all season and with Mustafi back in the heart of Arsenal’s 3-man defence, I expect another clean sheet for The Gunners in Gameweek 14.
Differential – Zeegelaar vs Man United (H)
I don’t really need another reason to pick Marvin Zeegelaar, other than having a briliant name – but who is the Watford defender?
After 3 defeats on the run, manager Marco Silva has switched to 3 at the back, bringing in Zeegelaar at left-wing-back
2 clean sheets and 2 assists will get you noticed and up against a Manchester United side missing both of their first choice centre-backs, who’s to say he can’t continue his attacking returns this week?
Sure, the fixture matchup doesn’t look appealing, but if you’re looking for an against the grain differential on Starting 11 in Gameweek 14, Zeegelaar could deliver healthy returns.
Safe Pick – Ederson vs. Southampton (H)
If you have the ball, the opposition can’t score. Unfortunately, even though Huddersfield didn’t have any shots on target on Sunday, Nicolas Otamedi did it for them by scoring past his own keeper.
Before the anomaly that is Everton, Southampton had the 3rd lowest number of goals scored this season – however, they won’t be gifted the chances they had against Everton and in Gameweek 14, are very unlikely to trouble Ederson.
Manchester City finished Sunday’s game with 80% possession and if they do the same again against Southampton then the Saints will barely get a shot away, lets alone score.
Differential – Begovic vs. Burnley (H)
Well, my Bournemouth stack paid off in Gameweek 13, as Asmir Begovic recorded his 3rd consecutive clean-sheet – ready to go again, Asmir?
Gameweek 14 provides the ideal opportunity to make it 4 clean-sheets out of 4, as The Cherries welcome Burnley to Dean Court – a side that’s scored only 4 goals in the their last 5 Premier League outings.
I fancy this game to be a bland 0-0, with a few forced saves thrown in for some extra fantasy returns in Gameweek 14.
Chelsea Eden Hazard is back on the scene again, with fantasy football managers across all formats scrambling to add the Belgian international to their lineups for Gameweek 14.
On Starting 11 this Wednesday, I’ll be following my gut feeling alone and awarding the armband to Hazard – although team-mate Alvaro Morata is also a solid captaincy pick too.
Eden Hazard is now sitting 2nd in the Fantasy Football Pundits Gameweek 14 Captains Poll – it’s good to know many of you are thinking along the same lines this week.
