Daily fantasy football picks for Tuesday’s Gameweek 20 Premier League fixtures
As always ladies and gentleman, my weekly selections are suitable for all fantasy football game formats and will work well with most scoring systems, whether you’re playing Fantasy Premier League, Sky Fantasy or daily fantasy games with us over on Starting 11.
If you’d like to get involved and play against the Fantasy Football Pundits staff this week and myself, @FFPundits_Drew, create your lineups for Gameweek 20 today via the FREE Apple or Android apps, or, by clicking the banner below.
Safe Pick – Morata vs. Brighton (H)
Chelsea have had 61 shots over their last 3 Premier League games, however have only found the back of the net 4 times.
The performances look good but what they are missing is that killer instant in the box which their returning man Alvaro Morata will provide.
On Boxing Day, Chelsea are at home to Brighton and with their target man back in the starting 11 I expect them to get back to winning ways.
Differential – Calvert-Lewin vs. West Brom (A)
Saturday led to yet another defeat for struggling West Brom, at this current moment in time it’s difficult to see where their next win will come from.
Their opponents this week are Everton who are still undefeated under Sam Allardyce
Ever present under ‘Big Sam’ having scored 2 goals and recorded 2 assists during those 6 games, ‘DCL’ could be a great differential against that poor WBA defence.
Safe Pick – Coutinho. vs Swansea (H)
With 3 goals and 4 assists over his last 5 games, the Brazilian is starting to create a discussion amongst Fantasy managers as to whether Coutinho is becoming a ‘must own.’
With their opponents Swansea sitting rock bottom of the Premier League, he is sure to be a popular pick again this week.
Playing in the number 10 roll and surrounded by Mane, Salah and Firmino, the attacking threat of that Liverpool front 4 can only be rivalled by Manchester City.
Differential – Gray vs. Watford (A)
I have been a fan of Demarai Gray for a couple of seasons and under Claude Puel he has been given regular first team football.
Not only is he playing but he has been moved in from the wing to a number 10 position behind Jamie Vardy.
The rot continues at Watford who have not won a game in their last 6 and have received 3 red cards in their last 4. Performances are poor, discipline is poor, this is the time to take advantage of the Hornets.
Safe Pick – Jones vs. Burnley (H)
We all know Jose Mourinho loves to keep things tight at the back and with Phil Jones his preferred Centreback, those clean sheet points have been a regular occurrence this season.
Their Boxing Day opponents are Burnley, who despite being this season’s surprise package have only scored more the 3 teams currently sat in the relegation zone.
Burnley will make it hard for Manchester United to score in Gameweek 20, however posing a threat to that Jones clean sheet is unlikely in my opinion.
Differential – Kenny vs. West Brom (A)
So despite a clean sheet and an assist in his last 2 games, hands up, who looked at the Chelsea fixture and left the full back out?
Well those who did missed out on another clean sheet and the Everton revival continues.
Gameweek 20 sees Everton travel to West Brom, who after scoring only 2 goals during their last 5 league games are not likely to be getting on the score sheet on Boxing Day.
Safe Pick – De Gea vs. Burnley (H)
My West Ham defensive stack collapsed on Saturday, Moyes Out? Well this week I am going for something a little more secure with a Manchester United Stack vs Burnley.
As mentioned earlier, Burnley have a poor goal scoring record this season, only finding the back of the net 16 times.
With an average shots on target of 3.3 per game, De Gea is likely to have a quiet afternoon and we all know it takes a lot to beat the Spaniard.
Differential – Adrian vs. Bournemouth (A)
This one may look like a strange choice given he let 3 of the 4 shots pass him vs Newcastle on Saturday.
So why am I giving the Spaniard a second chance? Well this week they travel to Bournemouth who have failed to score in their last 3 Premier League games.
Saturday was a blip, prior to that we were all rushing to buy West Ham defenders. That result will have scared some, don’t let it scare you and make him a differential for you on Boxing Day.
Alvaro Morata vs. Brighton
My gut says those Chelsea performances will be rewarded with goals on Boxing Day due to the return of Alvaro Morata.
Hazard is playing well but in that false 9 position he is isolated and needs the support of Morata.
The link up play between the two has been impressive this season and I expect goals from the pair of them in Gameweek 20.
Pick your ULTIMATE 11-man team from this Tuesday’s EIGHT Premier League Boxing Day fixtures without ANY player values or team budgets to contend with.
