Gameweek 6 – Football Fanager: The Pundits’ Team

With Arsenal, Spurs, Everton & Liverpool involved in derbies, the likes of Man City, Chelsea & Manchester United will look to capitalise in Gameweek 6.

After a turbulent Gameweek 5 which saw our Pundits team not really reach the heights we were hoping for thanks to the failure of most of the league’s top sides, we roll the dice again in Football Fanager’s Gameweek 6 competition.

Instead of overthinking things we have decided to put last week’s upsets to one side and write them off as a fluke – surely all the big guns won’t fail again?! Below is our provisionalFootball Fanager team for Gameweek 6 and although we’ve not spent every penny of the whopping £250m budget, we are pretty confident it can get the job done.

Chelsea have been frustrating us in recent weeks from a defensive point of view but they get another shot this week at home to an Aston Villa side that didn’t look up to that much against Arsenal. We’ve also loaded up on Stoke and Southampton defenders, mainly due to their home ties against opposition that haven’t troubled the score sheet much on their travels.

Midfield

In our opinion, Angel Di Maria picks himself at the moment and is one of the first names on the teamsheet given recent form. He should have a field day at home to QPR and is currently being considered for captain (he’s actually FFPundits_Chris captain in FPL). Elsewhere, Cesc Fabregas looks like an assist machine and the one gamble is taken on David Silva to improve on recent performances, although he could be changed pending further information on his fitness.

Forwards

West Ham should fall to the attacking power of Man United at Old Trafford and with Di Maria providing the assists, Radamel Falcao could finally get his account underway. Diego Costa is nursing a hamstring niggle but 1 game a week should be fine for him and as a result it’s hard to bet against him adding to his impressive tally of 7 so far already. The trio is made up by in form Southampton new boy Graziano Pelle, with 3 goals and 1 assist in his last 3 league games coupled with QPR not likely to put up much of a fight making him a no brainer for Gameweek 6.
