5. Eden Hazard – Chelsea (SWA)
With around 3% of the vote, Eden Hazard finds himself in 5th place in the FFPundits captaincy poll as Chelsea host a Swansea side that, despite their recent form, have conceded 9 in the last 5 Gameweeks; only Leicester (12) and Bournemouth (15) have conceded more goals over the same period.
The Chelsea midfielder has averaged 7.7 points per game at home this season, compared to just 4.6 points per game away from home.
8 of Hazard’s 10 Premier League goals this season have been scored at Stamford Bridge.
4. Sadio Mané – Liverpool (lei)
Sadio Mané has received around 8% of the vote, placing him in 4th place in the poll. Liverpool face a Leicester side that have slipped down to 17th in the league table, following a run of 5 consecutive defeats. During that period, Ranieri’s men have conceded 12 goals, only Bournemouth have conceded more, with 15.
The Liverpool midfielder has started each of the last 2 Premier League games, following his return from the African Cup of Nations.
His tally of 5 shots on target during the last 2 Gameweeks is level with Mkhitaryan and Lukaku; no player has taken more shots on target during the same period.
3. Harry Kane – Spurs (STK)
In 3rd place, with around 11% of the vote, it’s Harry Kane. Spurs host a Stoke side that have climbed up to 9th in the table, after losing just 1 of their last 5 games. They’ve conceded just 4 goals over that period; only Chelsea (3) and Man Utd (2) have conceded fewer.
The Spurs forward has dipped in form during his last 4 Premier League games, where he’s scored just 1 goal; a penalty against Middlesbrough. He’s failed to register a shot on target aside from the penalty, during the last 4 Gameweeks.
However, a hatrick against Fulham in the FA Cup should give him a big confidence boost ahead of the home fixture against Stoke this weekend.
2. Diego Costa – Chelsea (SWA)
With around 17% of the vote, Diego Costa is in 2nd place, ahead of his home fixture against Swansea.
The Chelsea forward has slightly outperformed teammate, Eden Hazard, in terms of returns over the last 4 Gameweeks. Costa has managed 1 goal and 2 assists, compared to Hazard’s 1 goal and 1 assist.
His tally of 4 shots on target during that period is double the amount managed by the Belgian midfielder.
1. Romelu Lukaku – Everton (SUN)
Leading the captaincy poll, with a huge 49% of the vote, is Romelu Lukaku. Everton host a Sunderland side that have conceded 9 goals during the last 5 Gameweeks. That tally is level with Swansea and Crystal Palace, and only Leicester (12) and Bournemouth (15) have conceded more goals over the same period.
The Everton forward is currently doubtful with a calf injury but is expected to recover in time for Gameweek 26.
No player has scored more goals than Lukaku during the last 4 Gameweeks, though the Belgian did fire all 4 of his goals in a single game against Bournemouth.
