Diego Costa – Chelsea (STK)

  • £10.7m
  • 38.9%
  • N/A
  • Stoke City (H), Spurs (A), Leicester City (A)

After missing Chelsea’s win over Bournemouth through suspension, the Premier League’s top goal scorer returns for Gameweek 19.

The Spaniard has been extremely clinical in the last 6 gameweeks, scoring 3 goals from his 4 shots on target. He’s also creating a good number of chances for teammates, and his 8 attempted assists ranks him 4th amongst strikers in the last 6 gameweeks, despite missing a game through suspension.

In Gameweek 19, Chelsea host a Stoke side that lost 4-1 to Liverpool on Tuesday night. Stoke have now won just 1 of their last 5 games, conceding 9 goals in the process; Hull (11), Bournemouth (12) and Swansea (15) are the only teams to have conceded more goals in that period.

Paul Pogba – Man United (MID)

  • £8.3m
  • 9.9%
  • 7
  • Middlesbrough (H), West Ham (A), Liverpool (H)

Jose Mourinho’s side have really hit form over the last few weeks; they’re undefeated in their last 9 Premier League games and have won each of the last 4.

Despite his slightly rocky start, the French midfielder has now returned a total of 3 goals and 3 assists in the Premier League, with the majority of those returns coming during the last 6 Gameweeks.

Only Alexis Sanchez (11) and Christian Eriksen (15) have taken more shots on target than Paul Pogba (10), during the last 6 Gameweeks.

Up next for Man Utd is a home fixture against Middlesbrough, a side that have defended well generally this season. They’ve only conceded 5 goals during the last 5 Gameweeks, but 3 of those came in a single game against Liverpool. With Man Utd’s impressive goal scoring form, we could see a game similar to the one against Liverpool.

Mesut Özil – Arsenal (CRY)

  • £9.6m
  • 9.2%
  • 6
  • Crystal Palace (H), Bournemouth (A), Swansea (A)

The Arsenal midfielder has significantly improved his finishing in front of goal this season, having scored 9 goals in all competitions, and 5 so far in the Premier League.

The German international has only provided 4 assists this season, but his underlying stats from recent weeks show plenty of promise in that area. Ozil has produced 18 attempted assists in the last 6 Gameweeks, which puts him behind only De Bruyne (20), Sanchez (21) and Payet (25).

Arsenal have a very kind schedule over the next few weeks, with home fixtures against Crystal Palace, Burnley and Watford to come over the next 5 games, as well as away trips to Bournemouth and Swansea.

In Gameweek 19, they host a Crystal Palace side that have recently appointed Sam Allardyce as manager, following a long run of disappointing results that saw Alan Pardew lose his job. Big Sam will be hoping to steady the ship and improve his team’s defence, but that may well take time and losing Damien Delaney to suspension won’t help matters.

Virgil van Dijk – Southampton (WBA)

  • £5.7m
  • 13.3%
  • TBC
  • West Brom (H), Everton (A), Burnley (A)

The Saints defender is averaging almost 6 points per game, over the last 6 Gameweeks (prior to GW18’s fixture against Spurs), having kept 4 clean sheets over that period.

He’s proven himself to be a magnet for bonus points too, having picked up the maximum 3 bonus points in each of Southampton’s last 2 clean sheets.

Van Dijk’s 5 attempts on goal, during the last 6 games, demonstrates his attacking potential, and the centre-back netted 3 Premier League goals last season.

Up next for Saints is a home fixture against West Brom. Despite enjoying a good season, Tony Pulis’ side have now failed to score in 3 of their last 4 games. With Saint’s strong home record, we could see another low scoring game between the two sides.
