Sergio Agüero – Man City (sun)
- Sunderland (A) & Stoke City (H), Liverpool (H)
With a potential Double Gameweek on the horizon for Man City, should they beat Huddersfield in their FA Cup replay, the Argentinian is sure to be in the plans of a number of FPL managers.
An injury to Gabriel Jesus has seen Sergio Agüero reclaim his starting place in Pep Guardiola’s side. The former FPL legend celebrated his return with an assist during a 2-0 win over Bournemouth. He then followed that up with a brace against Monaco in Man City’s Champions League win.
In his last 6 Premier League appearances, Agüero has started just twice but has still managed to return 1 goal and 1 assist. His tally of 12 shots from inside the area during that period is just 1 less than Diego Costa has managed and only 2 less than the in form Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
In Gameweek 27, Man City face a Sunderland side that sit bottom of the Premier League table, having won just 1 of their last 5 games. They’ve conceded 11 goals during their last 6 league matches; only Swansea (12), Leicester (13) and Bournemouth (17) have conceded more.
Following that, should the Double Gameweek go ahead, Man City will face a home game against Stoke. They’ve dropped to 10th place in the league, following a 4-0 defeat to Spurs, and have secured just 1 win in their last 5 games. In their last 4 matches, Stoke have conceded 6 goals; only Leicester (7), West Ham (8) and Bournemouth (12) have conceded more.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Man United (BOU)
- Bournemouth (H), BLANK, Middlesbrough (A)
The Manchester United forward led his team to a 3-2 win over Southampton in the EFL Cup Final; opening the scoring with his free kick and stealing the win at the end with a late headed goal.
In his last 6 Premier League games, Ibrahimovic has returned an impressive 3 goals and 1 assist.
His 9 shots on target during that period can be beaten only by Alexis Sanchez (10) and Harry Kane (12), while his tally of 13 attempted assists is more than any other forward has managed, during the same period.
Up next for Manchester United is a home game against a Bournemouth side that have conceded 12 goals during their last 4 league matches; no team in the league have conceded more, during the same period.
Raheem Sterling – Man City (sun)
- Sunderland (A), Stoke City (H), Liverpool (H)
The Man City midfielder has gone quietly under the radar in recent weeks, despite returning 1 goal and 5 assists in his last 6 Premier League matches.
Sterling has contributed to 17 of Man City’s goals this season in the league, scoring 6 and providing 11 assists.
In his last 6 league matches, his tally of 5 shots on target matches Sergio Agüero, and the England midfielder has provided 9 attempted assists, compared to just 2 by the Man City striker.
Should Man City’s Double Gameweek go ahead, Sterling will be another very popular asset, for the away trip to Sunderland and home fixture against Stoke.
Alfie Mowson – Swansea (BUR)
- Burnley (H), Hull City (A), Bournemouth (A)
Swansea suffered a 3-1 defeat to league leaders Chelsea in Gameweek 26, but continued to show improvement in terms of their overall performance. They now sit in 16th place in the league, following 3 wins in their last 5 games.
Alfie Mawson has made a habit of getting on the end of Sigurdsson’s set pieces. He’s scored 3 times already this season; 2 of those goals have come during the last 6 Gameweeks.
Swansea have a good run of fixtures to come, facing Burnley, Hull, Bournemouth and Middlesbrough over the next 4 Gameweeks and that includes a fixture in Gameweek 28, when a number of teams will be without a fixture.
In Gameweek 27, they’ll take on a Burnley side that have struggled for points and goals on the road all season. They’ve scored just 6 away goals in total, level with Hull, and no team in the league have scored fewer.
