Daily Fantasy Premier League Tips for Gameweek 1

Starting 11 is the premier *live* daily fantasy football app, which allows users to make changes to their fantasy lineups in real-time – just like a real-life football manager.

Players can make three live substitutions per lineup with no salary cap.

Starting 11 is currently offering free Premier League contests worldwide and will add cash prize contests in the U.K. and U.S. in the coming months.

Finally. The first week of the Premier League is nearly upon us – and so is the launch of Starting 11, a new fantasy app featuring live substitutions.

If you’re not familiar yet, check out our post from earlier this week for an introduction on how to get started with Starting 11 and join in on the future of fantasy football.

As we look toward Saturday’s Gameweek 1 matches, we’ve picked out a player from each position that you can’t go wrong with.

We’ve also picked out one who may fly under the radar and be the differential that wins you the weekend.

Forwards

Safe Pick – Sergio Aguero

Despite the emergence of Gabriel Jesus last spring, it looks like Sergio Aguero is set to keep his place in the first eleven, potentially beside the aforementioned Brazilian.

City take on newly promoted Brighton to start their EPL campaign, and while Brighton did boast the Championship’s sternest defence last term, they won’t have faced anything near Man City’s attack.

Differential – Christian Benteke

Likewise, Crystal Palace take on a newly promoted side, Huddersfield.

With Palace’s main offensive threats staying with the club this summer and Ajax legend Frank de Boer taking over as manager, this may be the season that they are greater than the sum of their parts.

Benteke scored six times in his last ten matches last season, including three total against Liverpool and Chelsea.

Certainly a player to look to sub on if your starters are looking sluggish.

Midfielders

Safe Pick – Kevin de Bruyne

Another City player that can’t be overlooked, Kevin de Bruyne led City (and the whole EPL) with 18 assists last season, and his league-leading nine shots that hit the woodwork suggest that positive goal scoring regression could be on the horizon.

His craftiness should lead to guaranteed points against Brighton.

Differential – Ryan Fraser

Fraser quietly picked up nine assists for the Cherries last season and could pick up a clean sheet as well against a West Brom side that was toothless for most of 2016/17.

This season, he’ll have Jermaine Defoe leading the line, so expect that assist tally to rise.

Defenders

Safe Pick – Marcos Alonso

After scoring five goals, plus six assists and fifteen clean sheets last season, Marcos Alonso is a safe bet to be the first name on your team sheet every week.

Starting the season against Burnley at home should provide Alonso with an early opportunity to rack up points.

Differential – Nathan Aké

Aké joined permanently from Chelsea over the summer after being recalled from his loan to Bournemouth in January.

Prior to returning to Chelsea, Aké had a run of three goals in six games for the Cherries and has a favorable fixture against West Brom.

Goalkeepers

Safe Pick – Thibaut Courtois

Chelsea. At home. Against Burnley. They’re going to get a clean sheet, aren’t they?

While Courtois may not rack up a ton of points from saves, he’s a safe pick to get seven points for a clean sheet.

Differential – Jordan Pickford

After impressing for relegation-bound Sunderland last season, Everton picked up the rising England keeper who could become one of the EPL’s best this season.

He’ll face Stoke for his first competitive match in an Everton shirt and will be looking to get his first clean sheet along the way.

The Captain

Captains earn double points for you in Starting 11 and can be the difference between picking a great squad and blowing away your competition.

For Gameweek 1, it’s hard to look past the dual goal and assist threat of Kevin de Bruyne.

We hope you’ll join us in Gameweek 1 by downloading Starting 11 in the App Store or Google Play Store.

Together, we’ll build the future of fantasy football.
