Liverpool’s Mo Salah looks set to top the captaincy charts for Gameweek 28
Good day to all Fantasy Premier League bosses and welcome back to our Captains Poll for Gameweek 28, where we give you, the FPL manager, the chance to post your captaincy pick and see how your fellow peers vote.
In our Gameweek 27 Captain’s Poll, it was Liverpool’s Mo Salah who topped the charts with 42% of the vote and once again, the Egyptian delivered for us in style.
1 goal, 1 assist, a clean sheet and 2 bonus points took Salah’s Gameweek 27 haul to 13 points – his 12th double-digit score of the season and a massive 26 points for those who gave him the armband.
A home game against 12th place West Ham this Saturday is likely to see the form midfielder top the Captain’s Poll by a country mile, with his form and consistency near impossible to ignore.
With 26% of the vote, Man City’s King of the North, Sergio Aguero, tore apart Leicester City at the Etihad on Saturday evening – in a 5-1 home win thriller, Aguero found the back of the net 4 times, picked up all 3 bonus points and returned 42 points as captain. Congrats to those who awarded him the armband.
Many FPL bosses are concerned about the return of Gabriel Jesus from injury, but that hasn’t stopped over 120,000 managers bringing the Argentinian in to their squads for City’s Gameweek 28 clash with Arsenal.
Tottemham’s Harry Kane picked up only 10% of the vote in our Gameweek 27 Captain’s Poll – are we starting to lose faith in the game’s most expensive player?
Whilst Kane has scored 5 in his last 5 Premier League outings, he’s returned only 1 double-digit haul in that time – which, in comparison to the likes of Kun and Salah of late, it’s clear to see why he’s not the top captaincy candidate each week.
Upcoming fixtures against Palace, Huddersfield and Bournemouth could see the 44%+ of us who own Kane, begin to entrust him with the captains armband once again.
Elsewhere, captaincy differentials such as Kevin de Bruyne (13), Oumar Niasse (12) and Eden Hazard (16) made it in to the FPL Dream Team of the week, with the latter bagging his 2nd 16-point-haul in 4 games.
With 4 of the top 6 playing each other in Gameweek 28, we’re likely to see FPL assets from Spurs and Liverpool topping the poll this week – but, is now the time to opt for a cheeky differential to avoid the masses?
Whatever your thoughts, plans or questions might be, please cast your captaincy pick to the poll below and reach out to me on Twitter via @FFPundits_Drew ahead of Saturday’s 11:30am, Gameweek 28 deadline.
