Tottenham's Harry Kane is once again set to top the Gameweek 5 FPL Captain's Poll

3:24pm Sep 12 2017

Harry Kane is set to dominate the Gameweek 5 captaincy selections, as Spurs’ home game to Swansea looks too good to ignore.

Hello and welcome back to our weekly Fantasy Football Captaincy Poll and article, where we give you, the FPL manager, an opportunity to cast you weekly captain pick anonymously, to our captaincy poll.

After the Gameweek 3 Captain Picks failed to deliver, in Gameweek 4, FPL Mangers saw the top 3 in our Captains Poll hit the back of the net.

Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku gave a solid 6 point return with a goal each, however those who stuck with Harry Kane were rewarded with 13 points.

Harry is back!

So who do I (@FFPundits_Drew) expect to see top the Captain Poll this week?  Please remember to cast your vote below and be sure to reach to me on Twitter to continue the discussion.

Harry Kane (£12.4m) – with August a distant memory, the goals have returned.  Tottenham Hotspur’s next opponents are Swansea at Wembley, can any of us risk not having Harry Kane at our disposal?

Kane has to be the favourite for this week’s Captain Poll.  I know I plan to try to bring him in for Gameweek 5 after 4 weeks without him.

This week Romelu Lukaku (£11.7m) is at home to Everton.  So far this season, his high ownership alone has seen him continue to be a popular choice.

Everton looked unorganised vs Tottenham, Ronald Koeman will need to tighten things up for Sunday’s visit to Old Trafford or Lukaku, Paul Pogba (£8.3m) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (£8.3m) will punish them.

On Saturday, Liverpool are at home to a Burnley side who were lucky to beat Crystal Palace last Sunday.

With Tom Heaton now out injured with a dislocated shoulder, we should expect Roberto Firmino (£8.6m) and Mohamed Salah (£9.1m) to take full advantage.

When Manchester City humiliated Liverpool 5-0 Saturday lunchtime, we saw a key development in the evolving partnership between Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) and Gabriel Jesus (£10.4m).

With City already 2-0 up, Aguero unselfishly fed the ball to Jesus to slot the ball home rather than finishing the move himself.

Pep Guardiola’s City side travel to Watford on Saturday and he will be hoping to see more of the same from his strikers.

Jamie Vardy (£8.5m) has started the season with 3 goals in 4 games and the England International is always a threat whoever the opposition.

While West Ham fans were blowing bubbles last night, Huddersfield had their bubble burst as they were finally beaten in the Premier League by the Hammers.

Time will tell whether they steady the ship and continue with their bright start, or this defeat leads to a slump in form.  Leicester City and Vardy will be hoping to increase the pressure on Saturday afternoon.

Alvaro Morata (£10.1m) – rumoured to be rested in the UCL tonight, Morata is in good form ahead of Chelsea’s home match vs Arsenal.

With Arsenal’s midweek Europa League match scheduled 2 days later than Chelsea’s vs Qarabag, Arsenal players do not have the same recovery time which Morata could take advantage of.

Remember to place your vote in our poll – I’d love to hear your feedback (@FFPundits_Drew) and who you plan to captain this week.
