Under The Radar - Gameweek 15

Players from Liverpool, West Ham and Bournemouth are flying under the radar ahead of Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 15
After a healthy Gameweek 14 for most FPL managers, now’s he time to find the suitable replacement for the suspended Sergio Aguero and lock-in your moves ahead of today’s 11:30am deadline.
I will give you 5 players that I believe can have a big impact on the next gameweek and hopefully give you food for thought when making your fantasy football changes.
Each week, I’ve to select four players that have a TSB% (teams selected by) of under 5% at the time of writing, in an attempt to unearth some hidden gems that could help bolster your mini-league and overall ranks.
Clearly there’s a reason why these players have a TSB of 5% and under, but if you’re looking to accommodate premium picks in your fantasy teams, these bargain buys could help secure the funds you require.
Andy Carroll – West Ham
- Liverpool (A)
Now this is a very big risk, but one that’s worth investigating. A player that’s played only two games all season and only started one is a player that not many fantasy managers would normally look at, but we all know what Andy Carroll can do on his day.
With West ham being arguably the biggest disappointments of the season, you can only see them improving from now, and if they are to do this, you would think that Carroll is going to be the fundamental factor to this.
When he came on against Arsenal in Gameweek 14, West Ham were already 2-0 down and although it finished 5-1, Carroll still made an impact for The Hammers with his goal and presence that he brings.
If you can look past his next fixture, Liverpool (A) you’ll see his next three fixtures are again Burnley (H), Hull (H) and Swansea (A), then you’d have to think that West Ham can pick up points in them games. With Carroll being a bargain at just £6.1m, he should be a player that fantasy managers should start looking at, if he can stay fit.
Stephen Ward – Burnley
- Bournemouth (H)
With Burnley only conceding 7 goals all season at home, Ward has been a major factor to this and is a cheap way to get into the Burnley defence, which we all know is solid at home under Sean Dyche (but dreadful away)
With upcoming fixtures against Bournemouth (H) and West Ham (A), followed be a fairly generous run of games through to January 2017, Ward offers great value for money and there should be several clean-sheets on their way.
If you’re looking to remove the luxury, more premium defenders like Bellerin, Alderweireld or Stones, then why not take a chance by bringing in Stephen Ward before Gameweek 15 and help give you funds to your fantasy budget.
Divock Origi – Liverpool
- West Ham (H)
When Liverpool played Bournemouth this weekend we all saw the result and thought they are clearly missing Coutinho, and it is true. But with a striker like Divock to replace him in the team, he can score the goals which will help Liverpool on their title charge whilst Philippe is out.
With three goals in his last three games and a starting XI place, Jurgen Kloop will be relying on Origi to score goals for Liverpool up front with Sturridge still out through injury. With Firmino most likely to be pushed to the left wing, Origi can be vital for the foreseeable future and is already proving to be a popular buy for Gameweek 15.
With Liverpool’s next three fixtures being West ham (H), Middlesbrough (A) and Everton (A) I can see Liverpool scoring plenty of goals. If you’re looking for someone to transfer in instead of the more premium picks such as Costa, Kane and Zlatan, don’t rule out Divock as a cheaper alternative who can give you the funds to bring in the Sanchez’s or Kevin De Bruyne’s.
Callum Wilson – Bournemouth
- Burnley (A)
Before his injury last season, Callum Wilson was showing why he was one of the most feared strikers in the premier league and proved it with his hat-trick against West ham.
Over a season later, Wilson is finally starting to get back to his best with two goals in his last two games against Arsenal and Liverpool and five goals all season in 13 appearances.
With Bournemouth now on a high after the stunning comeback against Liverpool (4-3), you would like to think that Bournemouth would now push on and look to use their confidence to climb up the table, where Callum Wilson will be the key to this.
Bounremouth’s next three games are against Burnley (A), Leicester (H) and Southampton (H) – three clubs which are all struggling to keep the ball out of their own net so, plenty of goal for Wilson to follow in my opinion.
With a TSB of only 2.9%, Wilson offers a perfect differential approach going in to Gameweek 15 – especially for those FPL bosses who’ve been stung with the mid-week injury to Southampton’s key striker, Charlie Austin.
