The European transfer window opens once again at the start of 2022 and, while January is traditionally a quieter time for player dealing, there are a number of teams in desperate need of reinforcements.
One side expected to be especially busy is Newcastle United. At the bottom of the table but with new owners, the Magpies will have money to burn. Fantasy football players need to keep a close eye on the window in order to assess potential new signings for their own teams. With that in mind, here are five who could be bound for England’s top flight in early 2022.
Serbian international striker Dusan Vlahovic has enjoyed a productive start to the season with Fiorentina and his exploits in Serie A have caught the attention of several EPL clubs. The 21-year-old wasn’t known as a prolific forward until this season where he’s lifted his game to score 13 goals in 15 matches across all competitions.
Liverpool have been linked with a bid but Vlahovic may well end up at Tottenham Hotspur where new manager Antonio Conte has a desperate need for striking reinforcements. Spurs’ aim is to finish inside the top four but a slow start to the campaign means that the top UK bookmakers linked to sbo.net have the club down as outsiders to qualify for the Champions League.
A productive transfer window could change things for Tottenham and some positive results could see their position alter in the markets. Any updates will be reflected by sbo.net who will continually monitor all odds relating to the Premier League and football in general.
News stories also feature on the site and readers can also get involved with those markets if they want to do so. Among the panel of recommended sportsbooks are options to register and take advantage of some generous welcome promotions.
Once signed up, there are ongoing offers in most places while a choice of funding methods and fast help facilities complete the service. There isn’t too much interest in Tottenham Hotspur right now but the arrival of Dusan Vlahovic could change all that.
Ben Brereton Diaz
Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz has caught the attention of a number of Premier League sides after a strong start to 2021/22. He’s scored no fewer than 16 goals in his first 21 games of the campaign and that record is believed to have attracted Brighton, Southampton, Leeds United and Burnley among others
Since he made his full international debut with the Chile national team, Brereton Diaz has transformed from an underperforming striker to a prolific predator who is edging his team towards the promotion playoff places.
The arrival of interim manager Ralf Rangnick at Manchester United has sparked a host of transfer rumours. The Red Devils are expected to be busy in the January transfer window and former Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham is believed to be under their radar.
The stories have gained momentum since an interview emerged from 2020 where Rangnick spoke highly of the England international. This is one of the more remote possibilities for January but, if Manchester United are to make a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Bellingham, they can expect to receive competition from Liverpool.
Ivory Coast international Franck Kessie has just a few months left on his contract and it’s said that current employers AC Milan have already resigned themselves to him leaving in January. Milan have lined up his replacements but does that mean that the midfielder will be heading for the Premier League?
This is another player to be linked with Spurs who, somewhat surprisingly, are said to have overtaken PSG in the race for Franck Kessie’s signature.
Fulham’s Aleksandr Mitrovic is one of those frustrating players who scores heavily in the Championship but just can’t replicate those stats when he moves up to the top tier. With 21 goals in his first 19 league games of the new campaign, could this be the time when an EPL side takes a punt on the Serbian striker?
Aston Villa have previously been linked while Newcastle United, who are desperate for goals, could be tempted by their former player.
