Premium picks from Man City, Liverpool, Spurs and Man United feature in our Wednesday night fantasy picks for Starting 11
The Fantasy Premier League Gameweek might be locked, but Wednesday’s contests on Starting 11 are open for business until 7:30pm, so let’s get stuck in.
Starting 11 is a new, innovative, free to play daily fantasy football game which allows you to pick your best 11-man team, each match day, without any player values or team budget restrictions.
Below you will find 4 players we’re adding to our Wednesday night teams, but most importantly, we’d love it if you grabbed the free app below and joined us in head-to-head battle for tonight’s fixtures.
David De Gea vs. Bournemouth (H)
What’s a Core 4 without the best goalkeeper in the world?
De Gea has 9 clean sheets to his name this season and an incredible 59 saves, creating a number of high scores for fantasy managers on FPL and Starting 11.
On Wednesday, Manchester United host Bournemouth, who despite travelling to Old Trafford off the back of a favourable fixture run, are without a win in their last 4 games.
With Manchester City’s name now engraved on the Premier League trophy, Manchester United will continue to fight but with reduced pressure in my opinion.
I expect clean sheets and the wins to return for Manchester United imminently, starting against Bournemouth this Wednesday, with healthy returns on Starting 11 expected.
Nicolas Otamendi vs. Swansea (A)
When a striker scores 2 goals in 2 games, the bandwagons start to pick up speed – well how about a defender?
Manchester City may not have kept a clean sheet in their last 4 Premier League outings, but the Argentine has rewarded fantasy managers by getting the ball in to the oppositions net lately.
This week, a trip to South Wales to play a Swansea side who not only stay 2nd from bottom in the Premier League, but have also scored only 9 goals all season.
Confidence will be high after Sunday’s victory in the Manchester Derby at Old Trafford and I fully expect Manchester City to continue their unbeaten run throughout the Christmas Period.
A safe play on Starting 11 this Wednesday, with clean-sheet points and attacking returns looking likely – play Otamendi with confidence.
Philippe Coutinho vs. West Brom (H)
A surprise addition to the Liverpool bench on Sunday along with Roberto Firmino – disappointing for those fantasy managers who owned him, however we can now move into Gameweek 17 full of confidence that both are likely to start.
The Brazilian’s previous outing involved scoring a goal as well as proving an incredible 3 assists for his team mates, which as a fantasy manager, is encouraging form heading in to Gameweek 17.
Whilst an away trip to Anfield for the Baggies will already seem a daunting task, we also have to go as far back as August to find the last time West Brom managed to win a game of football in any competition.
Liverpool will be too much for Alan Pardew and Co. and in my opinion, we will see the best of Coutinho again, rewarding those fantasy manager who decide to back him with a flurry of generous returns on Starting 11.
Harry Kane vs. Brighton (H)
The goals have returned for Sir Harold as he netted his 5th brace if the season against Stoke City in Gameweek 16, where he should have had a hat-trick – but lets not be greedy.
It’s amazing how one single gameweek can change the mood and tone of fantasy bosses on social media – Kane brace now gives him 4 goals in 4 games and suddenly he is a must own player again.
We’re a fickle bunch, but that’s why we love fantasy football.
This weeks fixture helps feed that popularity; against a Brighton side who have leaked 7 goals in their last 2 games, including 2 against a struggling Huddersfield side in Gameweek 16.
Pick your BEST 11-man team from Wednesday’s Premier League fixtures only, without any player prices or team budgets to worry about.
