This year Fantasy Premier League competition is of course on pause due to the ongoing FIFA World Cup, with a majority of the league’s top stars heading off to Qatar to feature for their nations.

But with an already congested fixture schedule having run its course prior to the tournament, and fixtures set to resume immediately afterwards, could some of the FPL’s top point scorers suffer from fatigue?

Ilkay Gundogan is one of Manchester City’s key players, and is an absolute engine in the midfield. Following his exploits with Germany he will certainly be carrying the weight of many minutes played upon retuning to City with Germany being one of the top nations at the tournament. BonusFinder in Germany finds the best odds and offers for people in the nation looking to place bets on this year’s tournament. Sports betting and online casino gaming are becoming more and more popular across Europe with Germany being no exception. With there being so many different sportsbooks available now, BonusFinder shows the benefits of each with many promotions being available over the World Cup period.

Die Mannschaft themselves are one of the big favourites, although the likes of Brazil, Argentina, France and England are also likely to go all of the way in Qatar.

England

Many of the Three Lions playing at the World Cup are some of the highest scorers in the FPL competition this season. Most notably Harry Kane, who is the second top scorer with 102 points, will almost certainly start every game for England at the tournament if he remains fit. Having already played 15 games for Tottenham Hotspur this season he will certainly be carrying a huge match load after returning from Qatar and he may struggle to immediately continue firing in the Premier League.

Kieran Trippier has represented exceptional value on FPL this season, as he has recorded the 3rd most points of any player from the right-back position. Gareth Southgate has made it clear that he is his first choice for England, so Trippier will likely need to be rested until the new year after he returns to Newcastle. Owners of the fullback may want to be wary when considering their squad for the festive fixtures following the World Cup.

Belgium

Belgium is another nation that tends to have a fair amount of frequent point scorers in FPL. The most obvious one is of course Kevin de Bruyne, as he assists at an incredible rate and often pops up with goals too. Belgium is not seen as one of the strongest nations at this year’s tournament, however, he will be the heartbeat of Belgium’s ageing side, and will certainly exert a huge amount of energy every time he steps onto the pitch at the World Cup. You can expect him to receive a rest upon returning to the Etihad especially due to Manchester City’s incredible squad depth.

Leandro Trossard has also been a great pick on FPL this season alongside his compatriot, with a number of impressive performances including a hat-trick at Anfield. He is quickly establishing himself as one of Belgium’s key players and will certainly play many games at the tournament.

English and Belgian players have made up some of the top scorers in the FPL this season so far, and players of the game should be keeping an eye on how many minutes they play as the tournament goes on, in order to begin planning the lineup they will lock in upon the league’s return.
