There are just 2 matches in this weekend’s Sunday contest on Starting 11, so it’s a nice, simple one for all to get involved with.
Everton host a Bournemouth side that have found just 1 win from their last 5, before Man Utd visit Spurs at Wembley, as Ole Gunnar Solskjær looks to continue his winning streak as caretaker manager.
Before creating your daily fantasy lineups and entering FPLTips’ FREE ENTRY £25.00 1st place prize Mini League, let’s take a look at some players to consider for this weekend’s contest.
Points are still awarded for goals, assists and clean-sheets – however, points for passing, tackles shots on target are also up for grabs!
Bournemouth have scored just twice during their last 4 away matches; a tally matched by only Fulham and Huddersfield, with no side finding fewer goals on the road in that time. So Jordan Pickford looks to be a strong option between the sticks.
3 out of 4 Everton clean sheets have come at Goodison Park this season and Lucas Digne has created more chances (38) than any other defender, so the left-back seems a wise choice for Sunday’s games.
Kieran Trippier has 5 assists to his name this season and only Mendy (6) and Alonso (7) have provided more amongst defenders, while only Holebas and Digne (each 8) have created more big chances than the Spurs right-back (7).
Luke Shaw has started all 4 league matches under Solskjær, taking a total of 3 goal attempts, with 2 of his efforts finding the target; more than any other United defender.
With Spurs (15) and Man Utd (14) ranking 1st and 2nd for goals scored in the last 4 matches, it’s hard to see clean sheets for either side at Wembley, so attacking threat from defenders could be key.
Paul Pogba has returned 4 goals and 4 assists in the last 4 Gameweeks and only Heung-Min Son (9) has been directly involved in more goals.
During the same period, 10 shots on target by the Frenchman ranks joint-top amongst all Premier League players, while only Westwood (11) and Sterling (12) have created more chances (10).
Christian Eriksen has been directly involved in 11 goals from 13 starts this season, with 5 of those contributions coming in the last 5 Gameweeks.
No Spurs player has created more than the Dane’s 32 chances this season, beating Trippier – with 24 and Kane – with 20, while only Son has matched his total of 7 assists.
It was a hectic Christmas period for Everton, who had just 6 rest days between their 4 matches, the joint-fewest along with Spurs and they failed to score in each of the last 2 Gameweeks.
But Gylfi Sigurdsson was directly involved in 3 of his team’s 7 goals and no teammate produced more than his 7 chances created or his 3 efforts on target, while only Richarlison (10) took more than his 6 shots inside the box.
Along with Wilson, Ryan Fraser has been a standout performer for Bournemouth this season and the Scotland international returned a goal and assist during the draw with Watford last Gameweek.
He’s now been directly involved in 14 league goals this season and no player has provided more than his 9 assists, matched by only Hazard, Sterling and Sané.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s appointment at Manchester United has seen a return to a more attack-minded style of play, with Marcus Rashford leading the line and contributing 3 goals and 2 assists across the last 4 league matches.
They’ve won each of those games convincingly, with only Spurs (15) scoring more than their 14 goals, while only Liverpool matched their total of 16 big chances and no team produced more shots on target (34).
Harry Kane has fired 17 goal attempts in the last 4 Gameweeks; only Rashford and Mitrovic (each 18) have taken more.
4 big chances by the Spurs forward in that time can be bettered by only Salah, Aubameyang (each 5) and Barnes (6).
10 efforts from inside the box by Richarlison in the last 4 Gameweeks is on par with Hazard, with only 5 players producing more.
Bournemouth have shipped 14 goals in the same period; 3 more than any other side, while only Fulham (18) have conceded more big chances than the Cherries (16).
Richarlison has 9 league goals to his name this season and with no standout captain and terrible underlying defensive numbers from Bournemouth of late, the Brazilian could be a brave but rewarding captaincy pick from this Sunday’s games.
