FPLtips’ Daily Fantasy Picks for STARTING 11’s Sunday 14th April Contest
The Premier League title race is heating up and there are 2 big games in Starting 11’s Sunday contest, as Man City go on the road to Crystal Palace, while Liverpool host Chelsea.
Free-to-play and cash games are available every single Gameweek and here’s a look at some players to consider for Sunday.
Points are still awarded for goals, assists and clean-sheets – however, points for passing, tackles shots on target are also up for grabs!
8 clean sheets in 12 games for Man City this calendar year ranks 1st in the league and no side have allowed opponents fewer shots on target (18) or big chances (9).
Crystal Palace have been impressive on the road in recent weeks but have only scored 5 goals in their last 4 home matches, just 6 teams have managed fewer.
So there’s a strong case for Ederson between the sticks.
Having played more minutes than any other City defender this season, Laporte appears the way to go if doubling up on their defence.
Liverpool are 2nd to Man City in terms of big chances conceded (12) and efforts on target faced (29) this calendar year and host a Chelsea side that have struggled for away form.
The Blues have lost 4 of their last 6 away matches, scoring only 4 goals; only Bournemouth, Huddersfield (each 3) and West Ham (1) have fared worse.
Van Dijk ranks top amongst defenders on Starting 11 this season (534.5), while attacking full-back Robertson (443.7) isn’t far behind.
His 10 efforts on target in the last 6 Gameweeks ranks 1st in the league, while only 4 players have taken more than his 14 shots inside the box.
During the same period, 5 goals scored by Mané ranks top amongst midfielders, with only Vardy (7) finding more across all positions.
6 big chances by the Senegalese international is twice the amount managed by Salah; only Vardy (7) and Lukaku (9) were involved in more.
De Bruyne only made an appearance from the bench against Spurs midweek and could be in line for a recall to the starting lineup for the visit to Crystal Palace.
26 chances created by the Belgian this calendar year ranks joint 5th, while no player has created more big chances (7).
Chelsea’s win over West Ham saw an incredible performance from Eden Hazard, with no player creating more chances (5) or firing more efforts on target (3) during Gameweek 33.
Over the last 6 Gameweeks, only Maddison (22) has created more chances than the Belgian and his total of 8 efforts on target ranks joint 3rd amongst midfielders, only behind Sigurdsson (9) and Salah (10).
After his early withdrawal midweek, Aguero could once again be preferred over Jesus when Man City travel to Crystal Palace.
The forward missed the previous league game through injury, following a run of 9 consecutive starts, where he returned 9 goals and 3 assists.
During that period (GW23-32), only Mané matched the Argentine’s goals tally and no player was involved in more than his 10 big chances.
Wilfried Zaha has played a hand in 16 goals this season (8 goals, 8 assists) and is likely to be the biggest threat for the Eagles when they host Man City.
He’s directly contributed to 9 goals in his last 10 outings, with 5 goals and 4 assists.
Firmino has returned 3 goals and 2 assists in the last 4 Gameweeks, with only Vardy (7) providing more goal involvements in that time.
Only 3 forwards were involved in more big chances than the Brazilian (3) and none of his forward rivals created more chances (7).
Guardiola may rotate after the midweek Champions League defeat but with Starting 11, we’ll be able to view the Man City lineup before locking in a team.
If Aguero is named on the team sheet, he looks to be a strong contender for captaincy, having scored more goals (10) than any other player during this calendar year (GW21-33).
