Daily fantasy picks from Arsenal, Man United and Spurs feature in @_FPLtips‘ team for Gameweek 4 Sunday
We’re back with another preview for Starting 11’s daily fantasy football app, with free-to-play and cash games available for the Premier League.
If you’ve never played Starting 11 before, the Rules are simple: you can spend an unlimited budget on a team of 11 players that you predict will score the most points during a single match-day.
This week, we’ll be entering a team in to Starting 11’s free and paid Gameweek 4 Sunday contests, which features the following 3 Premier League fixtures:
> Cardiff vs Arsenal
> Burnley vs Man Utd
> Watford vs Spurs
Points are still awarded for goals, assists and cleansheets – however, points for passing, tackles shots on target are also up for grabs!
Man Utd travel to Burnley this weekend, on the back of a 3-0 home defeat to Spurs, where they took a total of 23 goal attempts; only Fulham (25) took more in Gameweek 3.
With that in mind, Joe Hart is likely to be called into action on numerous occasions this weekend and even if Man Utd find a way through, we can at least expect the former England goalkeeper to make plenty of saves.
Kieran Trippier looks set to continue taking a share of set pieces, having already provided an assist directly from a corner against Man Utd, and a goal directly from a free kick against Fulham, in his opening two matches of the new season.
He’s taken 6 of his team’s 12 corners so far this season; a 50-50 split with Christian Eriksen and only Mendy (6), Holebas (7) and Robertson (8) have created more chances amongst defenders.
Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin provided an assist against West Ham last weekend and only Aubameyang (6) and Mkhitaryan (7) have created more chances this season, amongst teammates.
The Gunners face a Cardiff side that remain the only Premier League side yet to score a goal this season; having attempted just 5 shots on target.
Luke Shaw has been praised by manager Jose Mourinho, for his strong start to the season, in spite of Man Utd’s poor overall performances.
He’s been directly involved in 2 of his team’s 4 goals this season and no Manchester United player has created more chances (4).
United face Burnley in Gameweek 4, a side that have scored just 3 Premier League goals this season as their Europa League involvement continues to disrupt their start to the season.
Only Huddersfield and West Ham (9) have conceded more goals than Burnley (7) this season, so Paul Pogba has been selected in midfield.
Despite an underwhelming start from the Frenchman, his 8 goal attempts is joint top amongst Man Utd players; level with Romelu Lukaku.
Christian Eriksen provided his first assist of the season during the 3-0 win at Old Trafford on Monday, having created an impressive tally of 8 chances so far; only Fraser and David Silva – with 9 and Mo Salah – with 12, have produced more.
9 goal attempts from the Denmark international is top amongst Spurs players, beating Alli and Kane – with 8 shots apiece.
After tough opening games against Man City and Chelsea, Arsenal will now be hoping to put a run of wins together, having secured a 3-1 win over West Ham last weekend.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has created the most chances amongst Arsenal players this season (7), while his tally of 8 goal attempts puts him joint top, alongside Aubameyang.
Finally, Watford’s strong start to the season has seen Roberto Pereyra shine in an attacking midfield role, scoring 3 goals in the opening 3 games.
His 8 efforts from inside the box is more than any other Watford player has managed, while only Mitrovic (9), Aguero (10), Ings (11), Salah (11) and Wilson (13) have taken more, amongst all players.
Romelu Lukaku missed a big chance to put his side ahead against Spurs and will be hoping to redeem himself when United travel to Burnley this weekend.
He’s scored just 1 goal this season but his tally of 3 ‘big chances’ can be beaten by only Jesus, Mitrovic, Salah (4) and Wilson (6) – with Genting Bet offering odds of 3/1 to score the first goal on Sunday he could well be worth a punt.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is yet to get off the mark this season but he has missed 2 ‘big chances’ and taken a total of 8 goal attempts, which is joint top amongst Arsenal players, along with Mkhitaryan.
Finally, Harry Kane completes the team, having directly contributed to 3 Spurs goals in the opening 3 games, against Fulham and Man Utd.
His 8 efforts from inside the box so far is level with the likes of Mané and Lukaku; only 5 players have produced more so far (none of which feature in Sunday’s GW4 games).
As with traditional FPL games, you can select a captain for your team, who’s points tally will be doubled!
He might not be fully up-to-speed yet but 2 goals in August by Harry Kane is a good start to the season and we all know how explosive he can be when he fully clicks into gear. Will that be at the hands of Watford this weekend?
WHY GET INVOLVED? Well, whilst it’s a great fun game to play alongside FPL, Starting 11 will give the 3 highest scoring managers each Gameweek a FREE retro football shirt of their choice, to the value of £30 – this applies to both iOS and Android users
