Key picks from Spurs and Chelsea feature in @FFPundits_Drew’s Safe vs Differential picks for Gameweek 15
Hello and welcome back fantasy bosses to my Gameweek 15 Differentials vs Safe Picks for Starting 11, which have been hand-selected from this Saturday’s EIGHT Premier League fixture schedule, which kicks off at 12:30pm GMT.
As per usual, my selections each week are suitable for all fantasy football game formats and will work well with most scoring systems, so I hope you’ll find good use for them – whether you’re playing Fantasy Premier League, or daily fantasy games with us over at Starting 11.
If you’d like to get involved and play against the Fantasy Football Pundits staff this week, create your lineups for Gameweek 15 today via the FREE Apple or Android apps, or, by clicking the banner below.
Safe Pick – Kane vs. Watford (A)
Doubt is beginning to creep in to the minds of fantasy managers; can we rely on Harry Kane to deliver the goods week in, week out?
Well, if Harry can score 3 braces away from home in 3 out of 4 consecutive Premier League games earlier in the season, I’d say avoiding Kane is a huge risk on any given Gameweek, and not one I’m willing to take against Watford.
A trip to Vicarage Road – safely away from Wembley, against a Watford defence that have conceded 25 goals this season, should be enough to tempt fantasy managers into keeping the faith for Gameweek 15.
Differential – Niasse vs. Huddesfield (H)
The almost forgotten man under Ronald Koeman, but Niasse has scored 5 goals in 7 games this season for the Toffees.
Fresh from his retrospective 2 match ban for simulation and eager to impress new manager Sam Allardyce, Niasse returns for Gameweek 15 to take on Huddesfield at Goodison.
December presents a chance for the striker to prove that the club do not need to enter the transfer market during the January window, and with Rooney delivering a hat-trick in front of Big Sam in Gameweek 14, are things about to tick once again for Everton?
Safe Pick – Hazard vs. Newcastle (H)
He has form – he has a delicious fixture – he played only 9 minutes in Gameweek 14 so is well rested…still not tempted?
The Belgian international has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists during his last 5 Premier League outings, with most of the fantasy football community expecting him to add significantly to that tally against Newcastle on Saturday.
At home to Newcastle who have conceded 11 goals in 5 games, this decision is the easiest you’ll have in Gameweek 15 in my opinion.
Put him in, give him the armband and reap the rewards in your Starting 11 or FPL teams this weekend.
Differential – Groß vs. Liverpool (H)
The German midfielder may not be the first player on your mind with Brighton at home to Liverpool this weekend, however, he’s remained a consistent fantasy option this season, providing both goals and assists.
Brighton have, however, been performing admirably and sit 10th in the Premier League – no thanks to Gross being at the centre of all their attacking play and making things happen.
Gross has amassed 3 goals and 5 assists already this season, yet whilst a fixture against Liverpool look tricky on paper, I don’t think the Liverpool defence will prevent him from turning it on.
Safe Pick – Azpilicueta vs. Newcastle (H)
Another victim of the Gameweek 14 rotation headache for fantasy managers – rested for the visit of Swansea City, but likely to be well rested and ready for Newcastle United in Gameweek 15.
Azpilicueta will keep racking up those clean-sheet points in my opinion, but it’s the 5 assists this season which make him a stand out asset for fantasy managers.
Primarily deployed on the right of a back 3, the Spaniard continues to find himself in the opposition half and will look to add to his attacking returns each week, as he continues to target and create chances for Alvaro Morata.
Differential – Shawcross vs. Swansea (H)
A Stoke defender? Are you mad I hear you cry.
Please let it be known that it’s not the Stoke defence I am backing here, but rather the Swansea attack that I am backing against!
Those Swans haven’t score a goal in 4 Premier League games, so there is every chance Shawcross will see some clean sheet points this weekend and maybe even a bullet-header from a set-piece?
Safe Pick – Courtois vs. Newcastle (H)
As well as Azpilicueta, my defensive stack this week goes to Chelsea – not as outrageous as Burnley or Bournemouth in previous weeks, but a strong option for Gameweek 15 on Starting 11 and FPL.
Courtois has 7 clean-sheets already this season, with 4 of those coming in his last 5 games – the return of N’Golo Kante has been pivotal.
As Newcastle continue misfiring, having scored only 3 goals in their last 5 Premier League outings, I strongly suggest you load up on defensive assets from Chelsea in Gameweek 15 and let the good times roll.
Differential – Pickford vs Huddesfield (H)
Not a player you will have seen in many articles since pre-season, that’s for sure.
A torrid start to the season for Everton meant a player we were all touting to be a big fantasy asset this season, hasn’t materialised.
Well, a new manager and a fresh start is on its way to Goodison Park and in Gameweek 15, Big Sam, steps into the Everton dugout and in turn, begin steps to tighten up the defence and get back to basics, hopefully.
The opposition, Huddersfield, who have scored just 3 goals in their last 9 Premier League games, may struggle to spoil Sam Allardyce’s first day in charge.
Throw in a clean-sheet and penalty save vs West Ham in Gameweek 14 and you have a keeper with some confidence to build on going in to Saturday’s Gameweek 15 fixture at Goodison.
The captain choice for me this week is Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.
He was a firm favourite of mine for Gameweek 14, until he was rested by Antonio Conte and given a 9-minute cameo.
A rested Eden Hazard vs Newcastle is irresistible and an easy decision for this week so, all aboard Hazard across all formats this week, but especially worth having in your Starting 11 lineups.
