Fantasy Football Pundits readers get FREE ENTRY tickets to FanTeam’s Weekly Monster for Gameweek 29.
Hello and welcome back to our new weekly article where we, the Fantasy Football Pundits, show you the team we enter in The Weekly Monster FPL tournament, which is a GUARANTEED payout each and every Gameweek.
How did you get on last week? Thirsty for more? I know I (@FFPundits_Drew) am hooked already – finding myself not only taking part in the Weekly Monster but plenty of other single match contests.
For those of you new to FanTeam, the point scoring system is very much like the FPL game we all know and love – only this time you can win CASH. Some serious CASH!
The €50,00o contest, named the ‘Weekly Monster’ by FanTeam, starts with Saturday’s 3pm kick-offs – allowing you to concentrate on locking in your FPL team for the Gameweek first.
What’s more, by creating a new account via this link – you will also receive a free ticket into this week’s €2 entry contest with no deposit required.
The deadline for entering your team is 3pm, meaning there is no need worry about whether Danny Ing’s will return from injury or if Lord John Lundstram gets a chance in the starting line-up – wait for the 2pm announcement then edit your team.
Remember, the 3pm deadline means the contest does not include the lunchtime kickoff – so there are no players available from either Liverpool or Bournemouth this week. Quite frankly, after last week’s 3-0 defeat, I’m glad to see the back of them for the time being!
If you have any questions about FanTeam please feel free to tweet us at @FFPundits and @FFPundits_Drew – we’d love to hear from you, but more importantly, see your lineups prior to kick-off and offer you any advice and suggestions.
Firstly an FPL favourite of mine – gone are the days of Pulis Power at West Brom – however ex-England International Ben Foster (6.9m) is always a budget player I feel I can rely on when the time comes.
Last week’s clean sheet against Liverpool was incredible, something no-one could have predicted – now I’m not naive enough to assume that means Watford’s back-line will be impenetrable for the final ten weeks, however their squad will certainly be confident entering this weekends match against Crystal Palace.
Despite pulling themselves clear of the relegation zone, Crystal Palace have only scored three times during their last five games and only scored 25 goals all season – Newcastle are the only side to have scored less (24).
After their double defence failure last weekend, fortunately Liverpool’s fixture isn’t part of this week’s Weekly Monster – however Matt Doherty (8.6m) keeps his place after a goal scoring display against Spurs.
As favourites in the game at home to Brighton, Wolves assets come at a higher price than they did last weekend – but we feel Doherty is worth every penny.
We’ve owned him in our FFP Staff team on FPL for two weeks now, benefiting from a goal, two assists and a clean sheet – a must own on both FPL and Daily Fantasy formats.
Sticking with the goal threat, we return to our old friend Marcus Alonso (7.4m) – he seemed out of favour under new manager Frank Lampard, but how can the former Chelsea midfielder ignore Alonso now?
Let’s be clear, we aren’t expecting a clean sheet here – however with three goals in only two games Alonso is showing the form any striker would be proud of, quite frankly I hate not having him in my FPL team so he was one of the first names on our Weekly Monster lineup.
We complete our trio of attacking full backs with Leicester’s Ricardo Pereira, who is steeply priced at 10.9m – however given the fixture we feel he is worth a punt.
Aston Villa allowed Southampton a staggering 28 shots on goal during Gameweek 27, it wasn’t much better a week earlier against Spurs who managed 23 attempts – this fixture feels like it’s set up for Leicester City to return to form.
There are no double Gameweeks here on FanTeam, but that won’t stop us having Kevin de Bruyne (12.5m) in our Weekly Monster – a big game player who we expect to shine during this weekend’s Manchester derby.
You all know what to expect form KDB, so we won’t bore you will a list of statistics of how he is performed this season – even at 12.5m he’ll walk straight into our line-up almost every week.
Now Ismalila Sarr (6.8m) returning from injury was a player already on our radar, however we’d never have considered bringing him in for Watford’s game against Liverpool – two goals and an assist for the Senegalese midfielder against the soon to be Premier League Champions, incredible.
Well at the risk of being accused of a reactive pick, we’re jumping straight on-board this bandwagon and even selecting Adboulaye Doucoure (7.2m) alongside him.
Doucoure has flourished since the arrival of manager Nigel Pearson, making that number 10 position his own – Watford will travel to Crystal Palace full of confidence, fighting for their Premier League survival.
To complete this week’s Midfield, Bruno Fernandes keeps his place after a goal-scoring display against Everton – this week at the bargain price of only 5.9m, due to a difficult tie against rivals Manchester City.
Form over fixture folks, Fernandes has form – with Laporte injured, I expect Manchester United to score and for Fernandes to be involved.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s (6.8m) three goals in as many games, up against a Chelsea defence which hasn’t kept a Premier League clean sheet since the middle of November – what’s not to like?
DCL keeps his place, but we have decided to opt for the form of Diogo Jota (10.4m) this week over his strike partner Raul Jimenez – Wolves take on Brighton with the Portuguese forward now boasting seven goals from his last three outings in all competitions.
Completing the front three is a player we WISH we owned on FPL, for that reason we have to own him on this week’s FanTeam – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (13.2m).
The Premier League’s top goal-scorer this season who has scored three times during his last two Premier League games, this week lines up at home to West Ham United who haven’t kept a clean sheet for over two months.
Taking all the above in to account, here’s how we’ll lineup for the Gameweek 29 Weekly Monster €50,000 Guaranteed tournament on FanTeam.com as we aim to win the 1st place prize of around €5000.
Each and every week, FanTeam offer this €50,000 guaranteed prize-pool – no matter how many users enter, it will always payout the guaranteed €50K.
The beauty of FanTeam is that it’s a Daily Fantasy game – NOT season-long.
You need to pick what YOU think will be the highest scoring fantasy football lineup – without having to worry about how the team would perform next week as once Gameweek 29 is over, your team either wins, or loses.
