Jamie Vardy is on course to break Mohamed Salah’s Premier League goal record, BUT, his recent form is enough to force a sell on FPL.

As the strung-out fixture schedule of Gameweek 26 fast approaches, it’s time for me to return with my HOT SHOT and STRAY SHOT picks for the Fantasy Football Pundits readers.
This week, I take a closer look at Wolves’ star-striker, Raul Jimenez and Leicester City’s out-of-form front-man, Jamie Vardy.
As always Fantasy Premier League managers, I do hope this write-up offers you plenty of food for thought but if you do have any questions or would like to continue the discussion, drop me a message on twitter – @ohheyyystranger.
Raul Jimenez – Wolves
£7.7m | 24.7% owned | last 3 fixtures – 23 points
Although Jimenez registered a blank in Gameweek 25, he remains a popular FPL asset heading into Gameweek 26, with a run of three goals in as many games.
The Mexican international is currently on 11 goals and 6 assists and have a favourable run of games through to the end of the season, giving the striker decent opportunity to add to that tally.
In his last 3 outing for Wolves, Jimenez has attempted 10 shots on goals, with 6 of those on target – equal to that of Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero over the same period.
Wolves play consecutive home games against Leicester and Norwich in Week’s 26 and 27 and current owners will be encouraged by Jimenez’s returns in his last 4 home appearances – 2 goals and 2 assists.
Over that period, Jimenez accumulated a total of 26 FPL points – an average of 6.5 points per game. Impressive.
Leicester have not kept a clean-sheet since their 3-0 win at Newcastle – a run which have seen them leak 6 goals in 4 matches.
Wolves are a team we’ll continue to follow and enjoy watching on football streams through to the end of the 2019/20 Premier League season.
Next 3 fixtures for Wolves: Leicester (H), Norwich (H), Spurs (A).
> Verdict: BUY
Jamie Vardy – Leicester City
£9.8m | 39.2% owned | last FPL fixture – 2pts vs. Chelsea (H)
Leicester recorded 6 goals in their last two games and what stood out was Jamie Vardy’s innocuous non-involvement in any.
Jamie Vardy has not scored in the four games since his return from injury and his only contribution during that period was an assist in their home loss to Southampton – a game which he attempted zero shot on goal.
Both Raul Jimenez (23) and Firmino (20) have outscored the Leicester striker for points over the same period.
However, Leicester face Wolves next whose clean-sheet last weekend at Old Trafford was their first in 11 matches.
In his last 3 outings, Vardy attempted only 4 shots on goal, but all have been on target – which sadly isn’t good enough for the 160,000+ FPL bosses who have now dropped him from their Gameweek 26 teams.
The Foxes have scored a total of 11 goals in 2020 – joint second with Man City and only Liverpool (13) have scored more.
Selling the striker may not be such a bad move if you are looking at the likes of Jimenez and Aguero as replacements who are currently in decent form, but do keep an eye on Vardy’s decent fixtures in Gameweek 28 onwards.
Next 3 fixtures for Leicester: Wolves (A), Man City (H), Norwich (A).
> Verdict: SELL
BEFORE YOU GO… We’ve been buying and sell shares in Fantasy Premier League players on SportStack over the past month and we have to be honest, it’s a refreshing change from FPL, yet so similar.
