West Ham’s Sebastien Haller makes his way on to our Gameweek 4 FPL Watchlist after scoring brace against Watford
There are midweek EFL Cup matches to be played ahead of Gameweek 4, involving a number of Premier League teams, so it may be wise to avoid an early transfer if possible.
Please note that all players prices and ownership percentages quoted in this video and article were correct at the time of writing.
Sébastien Haller – £7.4m | 3.6% owned
Next 3 fixtures: Norwich (H), Aston Villa (A), Man United (H)
West Ham’s first win of the season came at the hands of Watford, with new signing Haller getting off the mark.
His 2 goals came from a total of 4 attempts, all of which were from inside the box and no player fired as many as his 3 efforts on target during the Gameweek.
An expected goals figure of 1.9 ranked top of all players in Gameweek 3, while only Salah (3) was afforded more than his 2 big chances.
The 25-year-old arrived at West Ham after a successful 2018/19 season in the Bundesliga, where he netted 15 times and provided 9 assists, in 29 appearances.
Only Liverpool (10) and Man City (14) have had more big chances than the Hammers (9) so far this season, while only 4 teams have produced more shots on target (16).
Up against newly promoted Norwich and Aston Villa in the next 2 Gameweeks, Haller could offer a short-term alternative to the in-form Ashley Barnes.
Mason Mount – £6.2m | 10.8% owned
Next 3 fixtures: Sheff United (H), Wolves (A), Liverpool (H)
Mount scored for a second successive match as Chelsea got the better of Norwich in a 5-goal thriller at Carrow Road.
The 20-year-old fired a total of 5 shots and no midfielder managed more than his 2 efforts on target during the Gameweek.
Only Ashley Barnes (13) has taken more goal attempts than Mount (12) across the first 3 Gameweeks, while Pukki (9) and Barnes (8) are the only players to better his 7 shots on target.
His tally of 7 attempted assists ranks joint-top amongst Chelsea teammates, on par with Pedro.
6 teams have scored more goals than Chelsea this season but only Man City (24) have produced more than their 20 efforts on target.
The Blues face just one ‘top six’ side in the next 9 Gameweeks, hosting Sheffield United, Brighton, Newcastle and Crystal Palace in that run.
David Silva – £7.4m | 4.2% owned
Next 3 fixtures: Brighton (H), Norwich (A), Watford (H)
David Silva made his 400th appearance for Man City this weekend, during a 3-1 win over Bournemouth, and marked the occasion with 2 assists.
The Spaniard was clinical, with both of his attempted assists leading to a big chance for a teammate and he found the target with both of his attempts at goal.
Although likely to suffer from Pep Guardiola’s famous rotation at times, after being named on the bench for the draw with Spurs in Gameweek 2, he looks set to play a key role in favourable matches against Brighton, Norwich and Watford in the next 3 Gameweeks.
The 33-year-old recorded 14 goal involvements last season in 33 appearances, at an average of 4.3 points per game and only Ryan Fraser (28 to 16) created more big chances.
Unsurprisingly, the reigning champions have produced more goals (10), big chances (14) and shots on target (24) than any other Premier League team this season.
At £7.4m, David Silva could provide a cheaper, short-term alternative to De Bruyne, with the wildcard perhaps a more suitable time to accommodate the Belgian.
