Manchester United’s Paul Pogba has fallen out of favour ahead of Huddersfield in Gameweek 37

Starting11.io - Live Daily Fantasy Football and Soccer

It’s the penultimate Gameweek of what’s been another rollercoaster FPL season, and the stakes could hardly be higher.

Whether you’re sitting pretty at the top of your mini-league and are looking to cement your position, or you’re preparing a last-ditch attempt to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, here you’ll find yet more analysis of the week’s main transfer activity to make those selection dilemmas that little bit more difficult.

So, without further ado, here are my thoughts ahead of Gameweek 37. As always, I wish all of you the very best of luck, and here’s to a sea of green!

Most Transferred IN

Diogo Jota – £6.3m | 8.8% owned

Wolves can take a giant leap towards securing seventh place with victory over already-relegated Fulham at Molineux in Gameweek 37 – and on current form, Diogo Jota is perhaps the man most likely to help them achieve it.

The Portuguese forward has returned an impressive 20 points in his last two outings – form which has caught the eye of an additional 60,000+ FPL bosses so far this week. At a reasonable £6.3m, it’s easy to see why so many are pinning their hopes on him for the run in.

That said, Fulham travel to the West Midlands in their best form of the season having won each of their last three, and fellow strugglers Brighton came away from Molineux with a point and a clean sheet just two Gameweeks ago. Foregone conclusion? Maybe not.

Callum Wilson – £6.8m | 18.9% owned

Bournemouth, one of the Premier League’s most inconsistent sides, welcome a depleted Spurs side in Gameweek 37 who will no-doubt have an eye on next week’s Champions League semi-final second leg.

So, on the face of it, this looks like the perfect time to face Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Callum Wilson has been in great form of late having scored three goals and provided three assists in his last three games, but these were split across two away games with a blank home game in-between, so there is an element of risk for the 65,000+ who’ve added the England forward to their ranks this week.

What’s more, Spurs cannot afford to completely take their foot off the gas with their place in the top four far from certain.

The Cherries have lost each of their last two home games, suffering defeat against both Burnley and Fulham respectively, and I personally feel that Raul Jimenez or even Wilfried Zaha may represent better options for those who can spare an extra £0.1m.

Most Transferred OUT

Son Heung-Min – £8.9m | 23.8% owned

As mentioned above, Spurs’ top four bid remains in the balance as they travel to Bournemouth in Gameweek 37.

Just how many key players make the starting XI remains to be seen, but if Son is selected, can he be counted on at this stage of the season?

There’s no doubt that the South Korean has had a fantastic season, but with no notable returns in four consecutive Gameweeks, he may be starting to feel the effects of a particularly long season.

With so much at stake for FPL bosses with just two Gameweeks left, almost 64000 at the time of writing are in no mood to carry passengers and are instead turning their attention to the likes of Diogo Jota and Bernardo Silva, freeing up cash to bolster other areas in the process.

Not a bad move, all things considered.

Paul Pogba – £8.5m | 31.3% owned

Manchester United’s rollercoaster season sees them make the short trip to face rock-bottom Huddersfield in Gameweek 37, and the fact that Paul Pogba is the one of most transferred out players so far this week despite facing a side who were relegated back in March tells its own story.

Apart from a Gameweek 34 brace against West Ham, the Frenchman has failed to provide a goal or an assist in eight Gameweeks. With so many other options out there, why would anyone use up £8.5m of their budget on a player who goes through such long lean spells?

Particularly at this stage of the season, it’s easy to see why so many are ditching those under-performing bigger names and following the form. There is better value elsewhere, and every point counts!
