The Gameweek 20 Watchlist is back to identify players who have caught the eye based on recent performances and upcoming fixtures.

After De Bruyne limped off against Aston Villa with what Pep Guardiola fears could be a muscle problem, this week’s episode will feature three possible replacements for the Belgian – should he be sidelined.

Please note that all players prices and ownership percentages were correct at the time of recording and writing.

James Maddison – 7.2M | 10.1% owned

Next 3 fixtures: Everton (A), Leeds (H), Fulham (A)

James Maddison made it 3 goals in 3 games after scoring in each of his Double Gameweek 19 fixtures.

The Englishman revealed in his post-match interview after the win over Chelsea that he’s been working hard on increasing his goals tally by arriving in the box at the right time.

We’ve seen that in action over the last 3 Gameweeks, where he’s taken just 3 shots in the box but has hit the target and scored with each one.

By comparison, his teammate Harvey Barnes has taken twice as many shots in the box over this period but has only scored with one of them.

Leicester have favourable fixtures in the short and long-term; taking on Leeds and Fulham in their next 3 matches and facing just one team with a fixture difficulty rating higher than 3 over the next 10 Gameweeks.

Raheem Sterling – 11.5M | 7.4% owned

Next 3 fixtures: West Brom (A), Sheff Utd (H), Burnley (A)

Raheem Sterling made up for his Gameweek 18 penalty miss by scoring a stunning free-kick against Crystal Palace.

With 2 goals and 2 assists over the last 6 Gameweeks, the 26-year-old has averaged 4.8 points per game.

He’s taken 46 touches in the opposition’s box over that period; only Sadio Mané (50) has had more.

But interestingly, it’s Ilkay Gündogan who has the strongest shooting stats amongst Man City players in this time.

The German has taken 13 shots in the box compared to Sterling’s 9 and has had 4 big chances, compared to his 2.

Man City have climbed up to 2nd place in the table, following a run of 6 consecutive wins.

No side have scored more than their 13 goals over their respective last 6 matches and they also rank top for big chances (23) and shots on target (38).

With favourable matchups against West Brom, Sheffield Utd and Burnley up next, there could be points on offer for both Sterling and Gündogan.

Jack Grealish – 7.7M | 36.6% ow-ned

Next 3 fixtures: Burnley (A), Southampton (A), West Ham (H)

Aston Villa’s 2-0 defeat to Man City saw them play their first match in over three weeks, following their recent coronavirus outbreak.

Jack Grealish attempted 3 assists during the match; only Rodri (4) and Foden (6) offered more.

No player has set up as many chances as his 58 throughout the season now, while only De Bruyne (14) has created more than his 12 big chances.

But the Englishman is sitting on 4 yellow cards and will receive a one-match suspension if he gets booked in any of his next three league matches.

As is the case with Man City, Aston Villa have two matches still to be rescheduled which are likely to form future Double Gameweeks.

In addition to that, the Birmingham side are currently scheduled to face just one ‘top six’ side over the next 11 Gameweeks.

That run includes favourable ties with Burnley, Brighton, Sheffield Utd and Fulham.
