The Watchlist series is back to identify some key players who caught the eye in Gameweek 8, ahead of the upcoming Fantasy Premier League schedule.

Here are three future transfer targets ahead of Gameweek 9 for both the @FFPundits and @_FPLTips teams.

As always, we have provided you with both a video and written version of our Gameweek 9 Watchlist preview.

Please note that all player prices and ownership percentages were correct at the time or recording and writing.

The England Premier League is the most popular and prestigious professional soccer league worldwide. Even in the United States it’s likely more popular than the MLS among hardcore soccer fans.

On this page we’ve recommended two betting sites for Americans, touched on two of the popular bets you can make on a Premier League match, and finished up with a simple 3 step guide you can follow to bet on the Premier League from the United States.

Bruno Fernandes – 10.6M | 29% owned

Next 3 fixtures: West Brom (H), Southampton (A), West Ham (A)

Gameweek 9 FPL Tips - Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes earned his third double-digit haul of the season as he played a direct hand in all three United goals in the win over Everton.

His 6 shots during the Gameweeks could only be bettered by Kane – with 7.

Amongst FPL midfielders, only Son (11) and Salah (15) have landed more than his 10 shots on target this season.

Only Salah (21) can better his 20 attempted assists and only Rodriguez (5) and Grealish (6) have created more big chances than his 3.

Man Utd have scored 7 goals in the last 4 Gameweeks, with only Chelsea (10) and Southampton (11) faring better.

Just 2 of their next 10 fixtures are rated higher than a 3 on the FDR, with meetings against West Brom, Southampton and West Ham up next.

The Baggies have conceded 10 goals in 4 away matches this season; on par with Liverpool and no side have shipped more.

Diogo Jota – 6.5M | 10.2% owned

Next 3 fixtures: Leicester (H), Brighton (A), Wolves (H)

Gameweek 9 FPL Tips - Diogo Jota

After a Champions League hat-trick midweek, in-form Diogo Jota was rewarded with a start against Man City in Gameweek 8.

He took 3 shots in the 1-1 draw, with only De Bruyne (4) attempting more, while his 0.53 non-penalty expected goals (xG) figure was the highest of any player during the match.

The 23-year-old has made 3 Premier League starts in the last 6 Gameweeks, where he’s scored 3 goals and averaged 8.3 points per 90 minutes.

Also on a per 90 minutes basis, over that period, his average of 2.1 shots on target ranks top amongst teammates, while his 2.7 shots in the box is joint-best, equal with Salah.

Liverpool rank joint-third with 7 goals in the last 4 Gameweeks, while no team have created more than their 12 big chances.

Meetings with Brighton and Fulham in the next 4 Gameweeks can help them maintain those numbers.

Matt Targett – 4.5M | 2.5% owned

Next 3 fixtures: Brighton (H), West Han (A), Newcastle (H)

Gameweek 9 FPL Tips - Matt Targett

Aston Villa earned their 4th clean sheet of the season in a 3-0 win over Arsenal, as Matt Targett recorded his first assist of the campaign.

The left-back attempted 13 final-third passes during the match, behind only Grealish (21) and Barkley (25) amongst teammates.

He’s provided just 5 attempted assists this season but they’ve each come in the last 2 Gameweeks.

During that period, only Cancelo (6) has attempted more amongst defenders.

Over the last 4 Gameweeks, Targett’s 11 touches in the opposition’s box can only be bettered by 5 defenders; Chilwell (12), Robertson (13), Cancelo (14), Furlong and Lamptey (each 15).

Aston Villa have conceded the joint-fewest number of goals this season (9), while only Wolves and Southampton can equal their clean sheet tally (4).

Their schedule over the next 7 Gameweeks includes Brighton, Newcastle, Burnley, West Brom and Crystal Palace; 5 teams that are rated a 2 on the FDR.
