With midweek Carabao Cup games in play this week, no transfers have been made yet, but two potential transfers are firmly in our thinking, ahead of Gameweek 10.
Sergio Aguero returned to the starting lineup against Burnley and slotted in Man City’s opening goal from the penalty spot.
With Pep Guardiola’s side having scored 16 goals over the last 4 Gameweeks; 10 more than Manchester United’s 6 goals, losing Romelu Lukaku is very tempting.
Possible rotation from the Man City boss is the only worry, as we saw with Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus last weekend.
For the second free transfer, Watford’s Richarlison is almost certain to come into the team, on the back of his 3 goals and 4 assists this season.
Christian Eriksen has served us well so far, but with a reduced amount of set pieces in recent weeks, his chance creation has significantly decreased. So, the Spurs midfielder is the favourite to make way.
With Ben Foster up against the in-form Man City side, Rob Elliot will keep his place in goal, for Newcastle’s away trip to Burnley on Monday night.
Burnley have scored just twice over the last 4 Gameweeks; level with Crystal Palace and Huddersfield and no Premier League team have managed fewer goals over that period.
Cedric Soares keeps his place in defence, following Southampton’s 1-0 win over West Brom last weekend.
They’ll travel to a Brighton side that have found the back of the net 5 times over the last 4 Gameweeks, and Pascal Groß will likely be the man causing problems once again.
Reports suggest Phil Jones is part of Man Utd’s squad for the midweek fixture against Swansea, which should mean he’s available for the Premier League game against Spurs in Gameweek 10.
Jose Mourinho’s side could also be boosted by the return of Eric Bailly, which would significantly improve their clean sheet potential.
Ben Mee comes back into the lineup, in place of Kyle Naughton, ahead of Burnley’s home fixture against Newcastle.
Burnley defended well against Man City last weekend and it took a Sergio Aguero penalty to open the scoring.
Sean Dyche’s side have conceded just 4 times over the last 4 Gameweeks; only Spurs, Brighton and the two Manchester sides have conceded fewer goals over that period.
After making his return during the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle last weekend, Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be in contention for a starting place against West Ham.
The Crystal Palace midfielder has been impressive this season, despite being yet to return FPL points.
But West Ham sit in 16th place in the league table, having won just 1 of their last 5 games and come into this game with the 3-0 defeat to Brighton fresh in their minds.
Raheem Sterling was an unused substitute for Man City’s 3-0 win over Burnley and there will be doubts over his starting place once again, depending on his involvement in the cup midweek.
If he does play the full game midweek, it will be an option to lose Sterling instead of Eriksen when making the transfer for Richarlison.
The Watford midfielder picked up his 4th assist of the season last Gameweek, during the defeat to Chelsea and has played a hand in almost half of his team’s goals this season.
To complete the midfield, Mohamed Salah lines up as Liverpool host Huddersfield. Despite their win over Manchester United last weekend, only 4 Premier League teams have conceded more goals than Huddersfield, over the last 4 Gameweeks.
Sergio Aguero could come into the team this week, depending on how much rest he’s afforded midweek and whether he looks likely to keep his starting place against West Brom. If there is any doubt, the safe option will be to stick with Romelu Lukaku.
Having finally opened his scoring at Wembley in the Premier League, Harry Kane is certain to keep his place ahead of an away trip to Manchester United.
Over the last 4 Gameweeks, no player has taken more shots on target or shots from inside the box than the Spurs forward. Kane’s 6 goals over that period is at least twice the amount managed by any other Premier League player.
Finally, Jamie Vardy completes the front line as he searches for his first goal in the FPLtips team. Leicester host Everton this weekend, which was looking like a very favourable fixture until Ronald Koeman’s departure.
Only Harry Kane has taken more shots on target than Vardy amongst forwards, over the last 4 Gameweeks.
There are 3 main contenders for captaincy in our squad for Gameweek 10; Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah and Sergio Aguero.
The Liverpool midfielder has registered 5 shots on target over the last 4 Gameweeks and has potentially taken over penalty duties, after his high-pressure penalty for Egypt a couple of weeks ago.
Harry Kane has topped the underlying stats all season, in terms of total goal attempts and shots on target and even against Jose Mourinho’s Man Utd, you’d expect the Spurs man to cause problems.
But providing he looks set to start at the weekend, Sergio Aguero could be the way to go, with Man City facing a West Brom side with big doubts to two of their key defenders; Jonny Evans and Craig Dawson.
West Brom have conceded 6 times over the last 4 Gameweeks and they’ve conceded more ‘big chances’ over that period than Huddersfield or Man Utd.
