Despite keeping just 1 clean sheet from their opening 4 games, Man City have only conceded 3 times this season; Liverpool are the only side to concede fewer goals (1).

Only Bournemouth and Liverpool have conceded fewer than Man City’s 4 ‘big chances’, so Ederson has been selected between the sticks this week, ahead of a home fixture against Fulham.

Benjamin Mendy has been directly involved in 5 goals this season and even provided an assist for France over the international break, so the Man City left-back joins our XI. His tally of 7 attempted assists can be beaten by only Holebas and Robertson amongst defenders.

Marcos Alonso has provided 5 assists over the first 4 Gameweeks; more than any other defender, as Chelsea host a Cardiff side that are yet to score away from home this season.

The left-back’s tally of 12 goal attempts is more than any of his Chelsea teammates have managed, beating Pedro – with 11, Hazard – with 10 and Morata – with 9.

Maurizio Sarri’s side have kept 2 clean sheets from their opening 4 matches, conceding just 3 times and only Liverpool have allowed fewer goals (1), so Cesar Azpilicueta completes our backline, for a double-up on Chelsea defenders.

Over the last 3 Gameweeks, David Silva has produced a league-high tally of 13 attempted assists; beating Salah’s total of 11 over that period and Hazard’s 9, so it’s very surprising to see that the 32-year-old is yet to register an assist.

Gameweek 5 sees Man City take on Fulham, who have won just 1 of their opening 4 games, conceding 9 times; only Huddersfield and West Ham have conceded more goals this season – with 10.

Aaron Ramsey’s underlying stats show promise, after playing 90 minutes in each of the last two matches.

His tally of 4 attempted assists in Gameweek 4 was joint 2nd in the league; only Eden Hazard produced more – with 5.

Amongst Arsenal players, Mkhitaryan is the only man to equal the Welshman’s 7 attempted assists this season, while only Lacazette has matched his 5 efforts on target.

Despite missing from the spot against Burnley before the break, Paul Pogba looks set to keep penalty duties going forwards and Man Utd have already won 3 penalties from their opening 4 games.

They face an unbeaten Watford side this weekend but will be looking to build on their comfortable 2-0 away win over Burnley before the international break; only Arsenal took more shots on target than Jose Mourinho’s side in Gameweek 4.

To complete the midfield, it’s Spurs playmaker Christian Eriksen, after scoring a brace for his country a few days ago. He may have lost some set piece duties to Kieran Trippier of late, but the Denmark international has taken 8 corners this season; just 3 fewer than the right-back.

He’s been directly involved in 11 Premier League goals during this calendar year, scoring 6 times and providing 5 assists in 21 appearances.

Mo Salah has scored an impressive tally of 5 career goals against Spurs in 6 appearances, including 3 league goals against them for Liverpool last season.

Pochettino’s side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Watford in their last outing and have conceded 8 goals in their last 5 league matches at Wembley.

20 goal attempts by Sergio Aguero this season is more than any other player has taken and his tally of 13 shots inside the box is level with Lukaku; only Wilson has managed more – with 14.

Completing the team this week is Eden Hazard, as Chelsea welcome Cardiff to Stamford Bridge. Over the last 2 Gameweeks, the Belgium international has produced a tally of 6 attempted assists; just one fewer than David Silva and Salah have managed in that time.

Chelsea have won all 4 of their opening games, scoring an impressive tally of 10 goals; only Man City have scored more this season – with 11.

Captaincy Selection

With Salah, Aguero and Hazard leading the line, there’s no shortage of captain options in this team.

But the Argentine scored 15 of his 21 league goals at the Etihad last season and had more ‘big chances’ on home turf than any teammate, so he gets the nod ahead of Man City’s home encounter with Fulham.
