All eyes on Man City's Sergio Aguero ahead of Gameweek 6 clash with Crystal Palace - Captains Poll

12:30pm Sep 19 2017

Manchester City’s Hat-Trick hero is set to top the Gameweek 6 Captains Poll, as fantasy bosses lose faith in Kane.

Hello and welcome back to our weekly Fantasy Football Captaincy Poll and article, where we give you, the FPL manager, an opportunity to cast you weekly captain pick anonymously, to our captaincy poll.

A Harry Kane masterclass was forecast for Gameweek 5, but instead, it was Sergio Aguero who caused destruction for the FPL managers who didn’t own him.

With over 5 million FPL managers this season, as well as a number of premium players, could this be the toughest start to an FPL season?

So who do I (@FFPundits_Drew) expect to see top the Captain Poll this week?  Please remember to cast your vote below.

Does Harry have form, despite lacking goals?

Who’s brave enough send their captain into battle in an early kick off?  At lunchtime on Saturday, Tottenham Hotspur travel to West Ham with no ‘Wembley Effect’ to concern them.

Harry Kane (£12.5m) – still leading the way when it comes to the number of shots and number of shots on target.

With stats like those, he surely has to start hitting the back of the net regularly again soon, doesn’t he?

Then there is Christian Eriksen (£9.7m) who FPL managers are turning to for Spurs attacking options as an alternative to Kane.

The Danish midfielder is currently leading in the Eriksen versus Alli debate, with impressive performances for both Spurs and Denmark of late.

With set-piece responsibilities, he’s not only a goal-threat, but is likely to pick up assists if/when Kane does start to fire.

This season’s first hattrick – who else but Sergio Aguero?

The FPL legend still has relatively low ownership by his own high standards, an ownership percentage which is now on the rise with 2 price increases in the last 48 hours, now valued £11.6m.

The form is good – the fixtures are good – the only issue is Pep Guardiola showing no mercy when it comes to leaving the Argentine on the bench.

A home match vs Crystal Palace is too good of an opportunity to miss, despite a Champions League match the following Tuesday, so I expect us to see Aguero a popular choice this week.

No Kane? No Aguero?

Romelu Lukaku saved many FPL managers’ gameweek on Sunday, with his second double figure return of the season – 12 points.

No longer on penalty duty, however leading the line for Manchester United, this week away to Southampton, he is the safe captain choice due to his ownership in my opinion.

Alvaro Mortata – a player who should link up well with Eden Hazard – combine Hazard’s continuing return to match fitness with Chelsea’s fixture run, Morata’s ownership and value could increase.

This week, Chelsea are away to Stoke City, who have kept only 1 clean-sheet this season – could Mark Hughes’ Potters be in for a good hiding this week?

After the chaos of Saturday’s fixtures has subsided, you can head into Sunday full of optimism with a Sunday captain.

This week, Arsenal are at home to West Brom, with FPL managers looking for Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette to ignite their Fantasy Premier League campaigns.

Unlikely to be topping our captains poll this week, but solid differential captain choices if looking to make up ground on your mini-league rivals.

Remember to place your vote in our poll below and I’d love to hear your feedback (@FFPundits_Drew) and who you plan to captain this week.
