The Manchester United midfielder is now the most transferred in player ahead of Gameweek 23, after scoring his 7th Premier League goal of the season against Everton last Gameweek.

He’s found FPL returns in 4 of his last 5 games, providing 4 goals and 1 assist over that period. During the same time, Lingard’s tally of 8 shots on target is on par with Raheem Sterling and only Mohamed Salah has taken more amongst midfielders, with 9.

When compared with Paul Pogba, over the last 4 Gameweeks, Lingard’s tally of 6 shots on target is 2 more than the French international has managed, while his involvement in 3 big chances also compares favourably against Pogba’s 1 big chance, over the same period.

Jose Mourinho’s side have scored 6 goals over the last 4 Gameweeks; a tally which is beaten by 8 teams in the Premier League.

However, Gameweek 23 sees Manchester United host a Stoke side that recently sacked Mark Hughes after a string of terrible performances and results.

They sit in 18th place in the league table having found just 1 win from their last 4 games, while conceding 8 times over that period; only Swansea (9) and Bournemouth (10) have conceded more.

It’s also worth noting that Lingard is now 11/10 to score anytime with, as his current form continues to slash his odds with the bookmakers.

Sergio Aguero vs. Liverpool (A)

With Gabriel Jesus sidelined with a knee injury for the foreseeable future, Sergio Aguero is the only recognised striker at Pep Guardiola’s disposal and that should see the Argentine enjoy a greater share of game time in the coming weeks.

Despite making just 15 starts in the Premier League this season, Aguero has played a hand in 17 goals; scoring 13 times himself and also providing 4 assists.

His tally of 7 shots on target over the last 4 Gameweeks is on par with Mohamed Salah; only Harry Kane (10) has managed more amongst all players.

So, it’s certainly tempting to find the cash for both premium forwards, with so few alternatives firing up front.

Man City comfortably beat Watford last Gameweek, putting 3 goals past Marco Silva’s side and their tally of 16 goals scored over the past 6 Gameweeks is on par with Liverpool; no team have scored more.

Jürgen Klopp’s side have conceded 5 times over the last 4 Gameweeks, which is a fairly average defensive record, given that 10 teams have conceded more goals over that period.

Marcos Alonso vs. Leicester (H)

We’re just 22 games in and Marcos Alonso has already matched the tally of 6 Premier League goals he managed last season.

The Chelsea wing-back has found 4 attacking returns during the last 6 Gameweeks, whilst also managing to keep 4 clean sheets over that period, so it’s no surprise to see that Alonso has become the top scoring defender in the game.

Over the same period (last 6 Gameweeks), his tally of 9 shots on target is level with Mohamed Salah; only Aguero (11) and Kane (16) have taken more.

When compared with other defenders, Hector Bellerin is 2nd for shots on target during the last 6 Gameweeks, having taken just 3 shots on target compared to Alonso’s 9.

Furthermore, no defender has provided more than the Spaniard’s 12 attempted assists over this period.

Only Man City have conceded fewer goals than Chelsea, over the last 4 Gameweeks, while no team have conceded fewer big chances than Antonio Conte’s side, during that time.

Phil Jones. vs. Stoke (A)

Manchester United have kept 12 clean sheets this season, which is more than any other team in the league.

Phil Jones has contributed to 11 of those clean sheets, while completing 90 minutes on 15 occasions, so it’s clear to see the centre-back’s importance for Jose Mourinho’s side.

After the 2-0 win at Everton last Gameweek, United have now kept back-to-back clean sheets in the Premier League, ahead of their home fixture against a struggling Stoke side.

They’re currently without a manager, after sacking Mark Hughes last weekend and sit in 18th place in the Premier League table.

Over the last 6 Gameweeks, Stoke have mustered up just 4 goals; only Brighton have scored fewer times over that period.
