Gameweek 14 is approaching and Starting 11 are back with another £50.00 Mini-League Freeroll
The Premier League football is coming thick and fast at us now and the end of December , so strap yourselves in and get ready for plenty of Live Daily Fantasy Football action on the Starting 11 app.
By creating a team which were mainly safe picks, mixed in with three punts to help my team stand out from other managers, I was lucky enough to win the £50.00 cash prize during Gameweek 13 – you can see my team in last week’s article.
Could it be YOU who wins this week? An extra £50.00 in the run up to Christmas for a competition that’s FREE to enter.
This Sunday we have FOUR Premier League fixtures on offer to pick your best Sunday-only 11-man lineup from, but who will make in to YOUR Starting 11?
Below, I (@FFPundits_Drew) will show you guys my lineup in advance and offer a few thoughts on which premium and differential players I’m considering.
Once you’ve installed the app and are logged in, please head over to the ‘Mini-League’ tab and there you will see FPLTips’ Mini-League contest for Sunday the 1st of December.
As we’ve said above – both the iOS and Android apps are free to download and the £50.00 Freeroll contest is free to join and play, so, there’s absolutely nothing to lose.
Jamie Vardy vs Everton (H)
Usually the first player I add to my Starting 11 each week and whilst I don’t like to use the word ‘essential’ when it comes to fantasy football, right now Jamie Vardy is damn close to it.
Brendon Rodgers has put together a fantastic team who are playing for the manager and each other and tactically, they are setup to perfectly utilise Vardy, unlike previous manager Claude Puel.
Opposition fans continue to give Vardy stick during games, but the former England International thrives off the abuse and silences them in the best possible way.
After Everton’s shocking performance last weekend in their defeat to Norwich, I was concerned that the board would call time on Marco Silva’s reign at Goodinson Park before this weekend’s fixture.
Thankfully, he will still be in his job on Sunday so, expect nothing less than a comfortable win for The Foxes.
Silva didn’t even receive the dreaded vote of confidence – instead, merely an announcement that he would remain in-charge for the trip to Leicester.
As you can see from my team below, there are plenty of Foxes in my Starting 11 this weekend and i’ll be playing with with confidence in my FPL lineup also.
Marcus Rashford vs. Aston Villa (H)
There has been plenty of love for Martial on Starting 11 since his return from injury, a midfielder playing as a number 9 is too tempting for many Fantasy bosses.
Instead the return of Martial makes Rashford the Manchester United attacker I’d like to own, Rashford hasn’t dealt with the pressure of scoring goals during Martial’s absence – the Frenchman’s return shares the burden, meaning Rashford is once again scoring goals.
Since Martial’s return during Gameweek 10, Rashford has scored three times (as well as providing 2 assists) during four games – with a home fixture vs Aston Villa on Sunday, I expect that run to continue.
Ole Gunner Solskjaer rested his full first team squad in the Europa League this week, meaning there are no concerns of fatigue going into a busy period of Premier League fixtures.
Alexandre Lacazette vs. Norwich (A)
My hero last week, Lacazette, captained my Starting 11 side, scoring twice in the process – many other managers opted for Aubameyang instead who with Lacazette as number 9, is forced to play out wide.
He has the form and he has the fixture this week, Norwich City – who despite beating Everton, are my firm favourite for relegation. It wasn’t so much Norwich playing well, but instead Everton playing terribly, in my opinion.
Norwich have conceded 28 goals this season and only Southampton have conceded more (31) – but they did lose 9-0 to Leicester City.
We all know Arsenal can’t defend, so they have to attack and outscore their opposition – I’m not saying I am confident Arsenal will win on Sunday under new interim head coach Freddy Lundberg, but they should score plenty of goals.
Diogo Jota vs. Sheffield United (H)
I’ll hold my hands up and admit that this pick is out of sheer stubbornness, as I brought Jota into my FPL team a couple of weeks ago instead of Jimenez – a punt that failed, but I still believe there is value in the Wolves forward.
Firstly, on Starting 11 Jota is a midfielder, which for me, boosts his value instantly as a fantasy asset – secondly, he is playing well.
His stats look promising and I believe the returns are coming, so this weeks punt is Diogo Jota.
Over the last three Gameweeks, Jota is forth in the league for the number of shots at goal (11) – he’s also made six key passes during that same period.
He’s not as reliable and consistent as team-mate Raul Jimenez, but, he IS worth owning and is definitely a differential who could make the difference over your rivals this weekend on Starting 11 and in FPL.
