Man City look hot captaincy favourites: The FPL Captains Poll - Gameweek 19

Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling look set to top the Gameweek 19 FPL captaincy charts

daily fantasy premier league - my little nuts

In our Gameweek 18 Captains Poll, it was Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah that dominated the overall vote with 63%, whilst the likes of Kane, Morata and Lukaku took minor honours.

With none of the above mentioned making it in to the FPL Dream Team for Gameweek 18, it wasn’t a great captaincy week for most of us – unless you were shrewd enough to opt for Philippe Coutinho (13), Firmino (12) or even Raheem Sterling (12).

It was great to see a few of you on Twitter captaining Marcos Alonso (28 points as captain), but with Poll-toppers Hazard (6) and Salah (8) producing only average returns, it was a captaincy fail for many.

Thankfully, there are no midweek Premier League fixtures to contend with this week, which gives us a few extra days to take stock of our fantasy assets and assess the busy upcoming festive schedule.

It’s also worth noting that Manchester United, Leicester City, Manchester City, Arsenal, West Ham, Chelsea and Bournemouth will all feature in Tuesday and Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup quarter-final games, so hold on to those transfers until Wednesday night at least folks.

With very few favourable looking fixtures on paper in Gameweek 19, FPL bosses are likely to go with the easiest fixture on the eye, but which Man City asset will they opt for?

Maybe Man City vs. Bournemouth looks the obvious fixture (on paper) to focus on, with both Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne racking up the FPL points from midfield of late.

Will the return of Paul Pogba help United get back to their free-scoring ways against a leaky Leicester City defence in Saturday’s late night fixture, with Lukaku reaping the rewards?

Or, will the Kane-faithful award him the armband against Burnley in Saturday’s 5:30pm kick-off, in the hope that he nets his 4th brace of the season away from home.

Whatever your thoughts, plans or questions might be, please cast your captaincy pick to the poll below and reach out to me on Twitter via @FFPundits_Drew ahead of Friday’s 6:45pm deadline.
