Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling topped our Gameweek 4 Captain’s Poll with 39.5% of the votes, but was closely followed by team-mate Sergio Aguero with 23%.

For the second consecutive week, it was Sergio Aguero who delivered double-digit points (16) for those FPL bosses who put their faith in him by netting a brace, 1 assist and picked up all 3 bonus points.

Sterling, sadly, whilst playing 90 minutes, didn’t produce any attacking returns for the 46% of us that own him, returning just 3 points on the day.

Elsewhere, Liverpool’s Mo Salah picked up just 14% of the votes in our Gameweek 4 Captain’s Poll, but did produce 1 assist, picking up 6 points (12 as captain) for the 42% that have him in their teams.

Gameweek 5 captaincy options

Based on form and fixtures, it’s hard to look beyond the likes of Raheem Sterling, Mo Salah and Sergio Aguero as a premium captaincy selection for Gameweek 5.

Favourable fixtures for Manchester City and Liverpool will prove difficult to ignore this week, with both teams scoring and creating plenty of goal-scoring opportunities.

Harry Kane netting a hat-trick for England in the international break could sway some FPL bosses towards Spurs’ home fixture against Crystal Palace, but Kane is likely to remain a huge captaincy differential for Gameweek 5.

Kevin de Bruyne’s 1 goal and 3 assists for Belgium against Scotland in the international break makes him a shrewd captaincy move against Norwich in Gameweek 5, but expect his ownership to rise north of 35% in the blink of an eye.

Having produced 4 assists and 4 bonus points between Gameweek’s 1 and 3, KDB impressively added to his tally by scoring 1 goal, 1 assist and 2 bonus against Brighton in Gameweek 4.

Be sure to let us know who YOU are likely to captain in Gameweek 5 by posting your vote to our Captain’s Poll below.
