Manchester United Wan-Bissaka is currently the 4th highest owned player on FPL and forms part of the ‘template team’
Contained within the Fantasy Football Fix Pre-season pack is the ‘Template Teams’ feature, which shows the FPL players with the current highest ownership and is updated every 24 hours.
Which players make the overall template team? And what do the other available features say about these players? Are they projected to score well in the opening weeks of the new season?
BEFORE YOU CONTINUE… As things stand, only 2000 FPL bosses have entered FanTeam’s £250,000 cash league, yet the top 1250 are paid out… if you’ve thought about entering and haven’t yet done so, what on earth are you waiting for? Now’s the time! [click banner below for info]
Mohamed Salah – Liverpool – £12.5m
Over 36% of FPL managers currently own Mo Salah, making the Egyptian the 2nd highest owned player in the game and with a tally of 562 FPL points over the previous 2 seasons, is it any wonder?
Using the ‘Predicted Lineups’ tool, we can see that the Fix Algorithm heavily favours Salah to start against Norwich in Gameweek 1.
Team-mate Sadio Mané, however, is only given a 49% chance of being named in the XI, most likely due to his later return from the African Cup of Nations.
Liverpool’s opening matches hold plenty of potential for attacking returns according to the ‘Fixture Analyser’ tool, with the Reds ranking top across the first 4 Gameweeks, ahead of Everton and West Ham.
Wan-Bissaka – Man United – £5.5m
Having made a summer move to Manchester United, Wan-Bissaka is currently the 4th highest owned player in the game.
The right-back enjoyed a successful 2018/19 campaign with Crystal Palace, where he recorded 3 assists and kept 12 clean sheets.
His starting price, however, has received a significant upgrade from £4.0m to £5.5m.
According to the ‘Predicted Points & Stats’ feature, 21 FPL defenders are currently projected to return more points than Wan-Bissaka in Gameweek 1, when Chelsea travel to Old Trafford.
Spurs right-back Kyle Walker-Peters is projected to do well amongst those priced at £5.5m or under, up against newly promoted Aston Villa on the opening weekend.
The ‘Fixture Analyser’ tool also flags up concern for the Man Utd defender in Gameweek 1, with 8 teams rated to have a more promising fixture for defence potential.
Callum Wilson – Bournemouth – £8m
Bournemouth face newly promoted Sheffield United and Aston Villa in their opening 2 matches and unsurprisingly, Fraser, Wilson and King are all proving to be popular options.
Over 20% of managers currently own Callum Wilson, whose average of 5.6 PPG last season ranked 4th best amongst forwards; only behind Kane, Aubameyang (each 5.7) and Agüero (6.1).
The 27-year-old netted 14 goals and provided 12 assists, while his total of 29 big chances only trailed Salah (30), Aubameyang (32) and Vardy (33) across all positions.
Even more remarkably, the Cherries forward created 0.4 big chances per game; a figure bettered by only David Silva, De Bruyne (0.5) and Fraser (0.7).
But according to the ‘Fixture Analyser’ tool, the strategy of loading up on Bournemouth attackers could run into trouble in Gameweek 3 and 4, when they face Man City and Leicester.
Over the first 4 Gameweeks, only Norwich and Arsenal are rated to have more difficult fixtures for attacking potential.
Heavy in Defence
Having kept a league-high total of 21 clean sheets last season, the Liverpool defence is proving to be popular once again, with both Alisson (33%) and Van Dijk (45%) making the template team.
Over 20% of managers own Man City centre-back Laporte, after the Champions kept just one fewer clean sheet than their 2nd placed rivals, while Everton’s set-piece taking left-back Lucas Digne currently sits in over 27% of teams.
DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS… our partners at FanTeam.com are offering a quarter of a million Euro prize pool for their season-long game, which is almost identical to FPL. Yes, that’s €250,000
There’s a cool €50,000 for first place prize and the top 1250 places are paid out! What’s even better is that only 2200 managers have entered, so you’re almost guaranteed to land in the cash places.
It’s absolutely not to be missed and we, as well as many other well known FPL accounts and websites, we’ll be playing this game also.
